PSA for Fellow Peppermint Haters: Gingerbread Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich

I am not a fan of peppermint AT ALL. Sadly, many of the holiday treat offerings are peppermint flavored. Boo. However, today I had the Gingerbread Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich (with brown-sugar cinnamon ice cream and rolled in crushed ginger snaps) from Schmoozie’s... hello! This was sooooooooo good! The cookies are soft and spicy and very gingery with a very thin vanilla icing on top, the ginger snaps are crunchy and also very gingery. The ice cream is creamy and delicious and perfectly compliments the gingerbread cookies and ginger snaps. Topped with a cute chocolate gingerbread man (I can’t comment on the taste as I gifted him to my toddler son). If you like gingerbread, this holiday treat is a winner!

Sounds good! Today at lunch at DL we had the fried chicken plate. Wanted the Yule Log dessert i TIL I read description- white peppermint chocolate, ugh.

What is WITH their obsession with peppermint? I get that it's big this time of year, but not everyone likes it. So glad you found a good alternative to enjoy!

That looks delicious! I'm also not a peppermint fan but I love love love gingerbread!! I was sad when they went with candy cane beignets instead of gingerbread this year. It's our first park day today and it looks like it's supposed to be hot. I think that ice cream sandwich should do nicely as a cool treat!

You will be happy... TONS of peppermint everything. Jolly Holiday has a Santa hat peppermint macaron that would probably travel well if packed correctly. And there are always the handmade candy canes!

Omg I need this!! I had it on my list to try so I’m glad to hear a great review for it!! I also don’t love peppermint. I’ll eat a little candy cane if it’s lightly flavored but other then that no thanks for me. I was bummed to see how much of the food was mint flavored this year- it felt like the majority has some kind of peppermint in it!
Also- the Yule log at the plaza is mint but the one at DCA booths is not if anyone wants to try it. We’ve had it and weren’t impressed and it wasn’t a bit pop of chocolate flavor for us but we usually share one every year since it’s so cute and fun even if it’s nothing amazing and just ok.

Alinea was very disappointed to discover that the marshmallow macaron thing at the Festival of Holidays booth was covered with crushed peppermint to make the "fire." Whomp-whomp. We peeled the whole top off and she ate the rest, but it was so unexpectedly hidden on that one!

I'm not a big fan of peppermint either and it seems to be everywhere this year! The one that makes me sad is the hot chocolate float at one of the Festival booths. We loved it last year and this year, it's peppermint hot chocolate. Boo.

This gingerbread ice cream sandwich looks delicious though, so thank for telling us about it!

It is not huge. I did share it with my toddler son but I could have easily eaten the whole thing myself.

Man we are like holiday snacking twins lol! I have the cookies and cream macaroon on my list as well as the ice cream sandwich- they sound soooo good!!
