Hi!
We are going to the world Dec 6-12 and my part of my mothers day gift was resturant of my choice in the parks....well after much debate I chose the 50s Prime Time Cafe. My question is, noone in my party of 8 wants to be tied down with a PS is it possible to stop a few hours before you want to eat and make a reservation? Or is this too risky? Or even if we call in the morning when we are sure we are going to that park that day?

Thanks so much

You can make PS from any courtesy phone or the phone in your room (for free) on the day you wish to eat at a certain place. There is no guarantee it will be available however. I seriously doubt that making ONE PS ahead of time will "tie" your party down. Just plan on going to MGM that day. Getting to a PS at a certain time is really not difficult at all considering all the transportation options. And the Prime Time Cafe is really fun and the food is pretty good. Also, save room for the peanut butter and jelly milkshake. It may be the best dessert in WDW (next to the chocolate covered banana at Ghiardelli).

I totally understand. I am skeptical about making PS in the parks too much ahead of time, because you just don't know exactly where you will be when. BUT, with a party of 8, I would be afraid that availability would be so limited as to the time, if available at all, if you wait until a couple of hours before. I would at least try early that morning and if it is for breakfast, I would try one or two days before.
Good Luck.

I've been at WDW that same time the last 2 years. I don't think you'll need a PS. Both times we had none and ate everywhere we wanted with no wait (maybe 5 min). You will love the Prime Time!

We went around the same time last year as you're going this year. We didn't make any PS's at all prefering to "wing it". We had no problems getting into any restaurant we chose BUT there were only 2 of us. Like lwestwise said, with a party of 8, it might be more difficult, especially for the evening meal.

The parks seem to be more crowded this year than the were last year. I know when we went, nothing was more than a 5 to 15 minute wait and somethings we were able to go around and get right back on. In fact, on Splash Mountain, when we got back to the loading/unloading area, they CM asked us if we wanted to stay on and go again...

To be on the safe side, I would make the PS, if it were me.
