PS needed for lunch on the first week in Oct.

Hello everyone! We have a upcoming trip in October. We have PS for all dinner and breakfast meals but haven't made any for lunch. I honestly didn't think we would need any since the beginning of October is one of the least busiest times of the year and I wanted to not "Plan" too much if that makes any sense. Let me know your opinions on this. Thanks so much and have a magical day!!

Well if you want to have a sit down meal then you will want to. That is the time where free dining is available and a lot of people are making their PS for the meals they want. If you want counter service then you wouldn't need to. Or if you want to take the chance of getting turned away or having to wait a long time.

usually that would be okay, but this year Disney offered free dining to people until and including the first week of Oct so a lot of PS's/AR's are getting booking VERY quickly. I say book, then cancel if you don't need them

I would say yes for sure. When I called to get our ADR for Oct. we were able to get lunch no problem but had to adjust our times. I was suprised not to get my first choice time calling 90 days out usually I get exactly what I what. It was not a big deal just off by around 20 minutes.

I would say if you have Breakfast and Dinner, skip the sit down lunch and get snacks for lunch time. In Epcot, get stuff from the F&W carts! They have fun little snack sized items that would be great for a light lunch in between big meals! At the other parks, just pick small things, or split sandwiches. However, if you want sit-down meals for lunch too, I would say yes get ARs.

I called 90 days out for SciFi lunch for the first week of oct and couldn't get anything before 1:00 !! I didn't call early in the morning because I figured no way would I have a problem if I waited until after dinner to call - needless to say I called at 7 AM the rest of the week and was able to get better times for my other ADRs that way. In June SciFi was turning away walk-ins for lunch and dinner the day we were there. I think the dining plan and the 50th is making this year very crowded and more people are scheduling sit downs!

Just a reminder that the free dining plan offer ends Oct. 4th check in with I believe a max. of 10 nights free dining. If you plan on TS in the second week of Oct. I would make PS. We check in on the 2nd for 7 nights and have PS at CG, 1900 PF, Boma, Ohanas, PT, and Teppanyaki. Ohanas is the only one we have been at so really looking forward to this trip.
