Hi Everyone,

I've come up with a rough list of the places we want to eat. I'd like some suggestions for the blank spots. I'm open to other suggestions that might be better choices for the ones I have filled in. We're not doing early entry, my DH doesn't eat breakfast and we will have a 3 year old with us so no V&A or the like this trip. :p :p :p Basically doing decent breakfast for my DD and I, light lunch in the parks and a nice dinner, someplace.

Here goes!

MK- Day 1
B- Cindy's (must do!! love this place)
L- In the park
D- O'Hana

MK- Day 2
B- Kona Cafe
L- In the park
D- Crystal Palace (will do this the night of Spectro Magic)

Epcot- Day 1
B- Spoodles
L- Le Cellier
D- At Park (light dinner since we're eating a sit-down lunch)

Epcot- Day 2
B- Boardwalk Bakery
L- Teppanyaki
D- At Park (light dinner since we're eating a sit-down lunch)

AK -
B- All-Stars Food Court
L- In the park
D- Boma

MGM-
B- Yacht Club Galley or GF Cafe (hearing GFC has good food and lousy service)
L- 50's Prime Time Cafe
D- Beaches and Cream after MGM (will walk back and then take a bus to DD and then a bus to ASMo or is this totally crazy? if so can I get some suggestions?)

Free Day at TL -
B- Open (have no idea, maybe ASMo food court again)
L- In TL
D- Open (was thinking of Whipering Canyon, but again seeing a lot of mixed reviews, plus with O'Hana, not sure if two big meat dinners is a good idea.)

Arrival Day -
B- On Plane
L- At ASMo Food Court or maybe DD if we don't get in too late
D- Chef Mickey's (do this every trip)

Depature Day -
B- 1900 Park Fare - Doing more of a brunch this day before head to the airport.
L- 1900 Park Fare
D- At Home

With staying at ASMo and then going to a resort, near the park we're going to and then going to the park, is that going to be a pain in the neck using WDW transportation? Are we better off just eating in the parks and at ASMo? I really wanted to get to some of the better places, but I've never relied in WDW transporation, before.

Thanks in advance for any help and/or suggestions!

Basically I do the same type of planning. We usually plan our meals around what park we will be visiting. Or, if we do Early Entry , usually before noon we're just about finished. We'll go back to our room (Boardwalk Villa's) hang out at the pool or take a nap :) then venture out again to a totally different park for dinner. The only resorts that we do eat in are the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's and the Poly for the Kona Cafe. I really enjoy all the different restaurants in the parks and along the Boardwalk.

The WDW transportation is hit and miss in my opinion. I usually never rent a car. I've been there when the buses are right on the money; then I've been there when you had to wait forever (seemed like forever) for a bus to show up.

Whatever you decide to do, have fun!!

My advice would be to eat breakfasts at ASMo unless you're taking a day off from the parks or have an early PS in the park. I found the Food Court at ASMu great before hitting the parks whereas sit-down full-service restaurants take a lot of time. Also, to go to another resort before park opening would be a hassle in my opinion. Save that for non-park days or a day when you plan to go to a park later in the day.

If you want to experience different resort restaurants on park days, I'd suggest heading over for a lunch or dinner (eg. on Epcot day, walk to BC/YC or BW for lunch or on MK day, heading to the GF/Poly or CR for lunch or dinner). Beaches & Cream will be packed after the parks close as it's the only place to eat late at night without heading to the Boardwalk (at least that's what we found).

Good luck with your planning.

Looks good, but you are right, perhaps you might want to go with another choice as far as Whispering Canyon -- unfortunately, we weren't impressed. Have you thought of eating at Cape May Cafe, instead... great selection, great value... and just plain terrific!

Thanks for the replies!

No we never thought about Cape May. Isn't that seafood? I'd love it, but my DH would revolt!:p :p :p

I'm hoping the buses won't prove to be too much of a problem. I think we'll plan on trying it for a few days and then keep going if it works and then if it's a pain in the neck I'll just grab breakfast from the food court the rest of the trip.

Don't worry about Cape May Cafe Seafood buffet. They have a great kids buffet (mac and cheese, mini hot dogs, ice cream bar, etc), plus plenty of red meat. On our last visit they had plenty of tasty bq ribs, flank steak, some pasta dishes, baked potatoes, etc. I think every one could find their fill. Make sure you get PS, this is very popular.:smooth:

Hummm...that Cape May Buffet sounds like something we should try! In all the years I've been going to WDW I've never been there.

Like Pammy, I love the seafood, but DH and DS are not fond of it at all. But if they have ribs and potatoes, then we should be set!

I keep telling my DH that he doesn't know what he's missing. :p :p :p I've got a good one tho, he eats canned tuna!!! But he won't touch any other kind of seafood. What a goof! :p :p

I'm going to run this menu by him, I think Cape May might be a better option, since I don't want to meals with grilled meats. I'm trying to get some variety in there. Plus I'd like my DH to see some of the other WDW resorts, so maybe next time, if he goes, it'll be easier to talk him into popping for AKL or the GF. :p :p :p

Thanks again!

We're thinking of eating at a lot of the places on your list. When I get back I will post what I thought. I know for sure we have PS's or plans to eat at:
Chef Mickey's
Whispering Canyon (Although maybe we'll change to Cape May??)
Rose and Crown
Shula's
Beaches and Cream
50's Prime Time
Ohana
Teppanyaki

I want to try and hit Columbia Harbor House & Pecos Bills as counter service in the MK, Tusker House or Flame Tree at AK, Land food court or Japan or German counter service at E & if we decide to skip 50's for whatever reason, we will probably end up at Pizza Planet cause we have a Toy Story Fan in our party. ;) We still have 2 or 3 nights where our meals are open and I'm kind of looking forward to the mystery of where we're going to end up. We went to bed at 10 last night, and stayed up til 12 talking about the trip....it was fun. :D

Alice28- Thanks!! I'd love to hear what you think. Some of the places we have ate at and love them. Here's where we ate that are on your list...

Chef Mickey's - Love it there. Usually do first night dinner here. Character interaction is wonderful here, food is pretty good for a mass production buffet!

Rose and Crown - Had a nice dinner here, we had other issues tho, like getting rained on inside. LOL No I'm not kidding. It was pouring the one year we went and everyone was getting soaked inside. I'm sure they fixed the roof by now, that was 3 years ago.

Columbia Harbor House - Great place! Can get busy at prime eating hours, but we've never had a problem finding someplace to sit. Nice change from the typical bugers and fries for lunch.

Pecos Bills - Yummy place. I make it a point to hit this place and the mexican place near there (can't think of the name at the moment) each trip. The fixings bar is great!

Tusker House - We had a great lunch here. It was even one of the more quiet places for lunch. It's a big building, so they can get a lot of folks in here, without feeling to overwhelmed by all the people. I had some sort of chicken dish and it was very good.

Land Food Court - Again another great place with a lot of variety for lunch, it just can get very busy, so if you go there, try and find a table and take turns going to get food.

Germany - The brats and beer at the counter service place here was great! We grabbed a brat and a beer and sat outside and people watched. One of the better lunches (fast food) we've had.

Hope you have a great time! And happy planning!

Pammy

At Animal Kingdom - Flametree BBQ and at Magic Kingdom - Cosmic Ray's. You can't go wrong with either one of these. Enjoy your trip.
