Do I need to make one and if so how far in advance?

I am trying to get my calender all marked up with the day's I need to call and make reservations.

Also, if I want to have lunch at the Blue Bayou on Sept 28th would I call to make ressies on July 28th?

You should make one for the Rainforest Cafe if you plan on eating there at peak meal times - the lines are usually long for breakfast, and especially dinner. PS for the Blue Bayou is 60 days out. I think you would have to call at 60 days, as opposed to July 28th (unless they are the same).

This is different than reservations (like for Fantasmic), where you make your reservation a month out. Then you would call on August 28th for a September 28th show.

So when should I call in for a character meal? How far in advance should I call in for the RFC ressie?

You can call for RFC reservations up to six months out I believe, maybe even further out than that. The direct number for RFC is: 714-772-0413. I would call at least a couple of weeks out for that one, sooner if you know your plans. For character meals I have never had a problem booking one month out. If your trip is the end of September, which is off season you should be fine a month out. You can certainly make one 60 days prior if you have your plans set that far in advance. I would definitely book Blue Bayou and Cafe Orleans as far in advance as possible, my experience at Blue Bayou has always been that if I wait too long, I don't get the time I want. Character meals I can generally get with no problem, even close in. As an example, I was able to book the Storytellers Cafe breakfast for Father's Day this morning,, for 8 people at the time I wanted. Good luck!

I just called about 2 weeks ago to make a ressie at RFC for the end of June. When I asked how far in advance they take them, she told me 30 days, 2 weeks, 1 week, or not at all depending on when you want them??? I was like, ok! Gave her my date (which was 30 days out) and she booked me! Weird!
