I asked Disney folks for a not-too-heavy but somewhat peaceful place where would could actually get a PS in the evening at MK.

She told me to eat at the Plaza restaurant, and confirmed a PS for me at 5:00.

When I try to read about this place, it sounds like a cafeteria sandwich shop, and I don' t see anything about PS's there. Is this for real? If it's relatively quick and light AND allows a PS, it sounds perfect for me.

I haven't ever eaten there but it's definitely a full service restaurant. They do serve mostly sandwiches but they sound so yummy! I've seen pictures of the interior and it is a lovely restaurant. I'm hoping to eat there on my next trip. ::yes::

Great choice! We had lunch at the Plaza....just sandwiches, but very large portions. Delicious! We did not have room for dessert, but I've read on the DisBoards that they have great sundaes and shakes. Enjoy!

We love it at the Plaza, too and it is a great choice for a light dinner.

It is a small restaurant that is like an old fashionned ice cream parlor. It is full service and we always make PSs.

There is another much, much larger counter service restaurant called the Plaza Pavillion just past the Plaza Restaurant at the cusp of Tomorrowland. The one you want is just around the corner from Main Street.

Plaza restaurant takes PS's,is located around the corner at the ice-cream parlor on the way to tomorrowland. It is a sit down rest. with waitors. They have sandwiches,soups,salads,ice-cream and kids meals with mini-hot-dogs & burgers. We always go there at least once every trip.:) You should enjoy it there.

How hard would it be to get a PS for the Plaza the day of or day before we want to eat there in late Sept/early Oct? I want to fit it into one of our MK days, but I'm not sure which one right now. Do they usually book solid at 90 days? I didn't really think so...

I've called the same day and gotten a PS. If you're not to picky on a specific time, I think your odds are pretty good.

Hi to all

I just made a PS for next Sunday August 1st and got the time I wanted with a party of 7.

We have eaten here before and everything we have tried has been wonderful. We love it for it's low keyed approach and it seems to slow the pace down just enough to get your second wind.

Enjoy!! We certainly do.

There are two "Plaza" eating places. The Plaza fast food and the Plaza Restaurant. It sounds like you made a wonderful choice for what you wanted. The Plaza Restaurant is simple, peaceful and they have very good sandwiches. ENJOY!!!;)

Maybe you were looking at the menu for The Plaza Pavillion? I did the same thing when I first went to check out the menu for the Plaza Restaurant.

I think you will find the Plaza Rest. just what you asked for...we love the place! Its a great place for a lunch where you just need to unwind for a bit or a dinner after a long day at the parks. We also use its close proximity to the hub to catch a seat for the parades/fireworks...plan our PS accordingly, have a great dinner/lunch, and walk out of the Plaza to find our spot.

This is our favorite "sit down" in MK! Make sure to leave room for their fabulous ice cream for dessert, IMHO I think it's the best ON PROPERTY!! I think this restaurant is a one of WDW's hidden gems;)

As other posters mentioned, this is a "sit down" restaurant, not a cafeteria style (I also thought the same thing before stumbling upon it one "cold" day in December). We always try to have lunch here whenever we're in MK.

You can check out their menu here:PLAZA MENUThey also have a children's menu. ENJOY!

Not our favorite, but~

The Plaza wasnt impressive to us, food wise. It was sandwiches and salads. Freshly prepared, and thats all.

The thing is, though, it was cool, peacefull, and quiet in there. Real dishes instead of the usual paper and plastics. This provided a lovely break from the SOS in MK the day we were there. We just walked in on a whim and were served immediately. (just lucky, maybe?) or maybe most ppl who are willing to pay for table service, want something they cant get at Cosmic Ray's or Caseys...

If you need a little peace and quiet with a simple bite... Go for it::yes::

I love this place now! We did not have PS. We just walked up to the restaurant and asked for the next available seating. We only waited about 10 minutes. I really think most people don't know about it.

I love this place. It is sandwiches and salads, milkshakes and ice cream. It is a sit down restaurant7 and you can make PS. I eat here at least once each trip. The place is bright, cheery, cool and relaxing and the food is fresh and yummy! It sounds like it would be perfect for you. Do make a PS and enjoy!

It's funny, too, becuase it *is* such a simple place, but whenever it pops up here on these boards most people have only positives to say!

And yes make sure you ask for the Plaza Restaurant (not to be confused with the counter service Plaze Pavillion).

Enjoy!

We found it on our last trip and it was wonderful. Sandwiches are big, german potato salad is excellent, soup good and ice cream is wonderful. Enjoy!

We just ate at the Plaza for lunch this past Tuesday and we just walked up for a table. We had no priority seating and were seated in around 10 minutes. I had the reuben with German potato salad and it was delicious. Everyone with me loved their lunches too. It was a nice break from the fast food we normally do for lunch in the MK.
