PS for on site hotel guests

This is our first time staying on site at Universal and our first visit to Universal. (Did Island of Adventure once) I know, I'm cheating on Disney big time!! How does the priority seating work? What places will give you easier access if you're staying on site? Is there anyone that has a list that I can look at?

Also, we're booked on the new club floor over at The Portifino resort. Has anyone stayed on this? I hope that it's worth the extra money and that we love this resort as much as the Yacht Club over at Disney.

The only restaurants that will not give ps with your roomkey are Emirils at citywalk and all onsite restaurants although margritville is still a wait even with key

Aslo Chop Tchop (sp?) will not care if you are staying on site. Also we tried to make reservations at Mamma Dellas and they would not give us one saying they were all booked up. they also did not care that we were club level at the PBH!

What did get us into every restaurant is this --American Express Platinum- They have a concierge that you call (a seperate number) and they will get you any reservation at any time. After being declined by the above 2 restaurants, we called AmEX and they got us a table.
Works better than the room key

Mamma Dellas has the best spaghetti and meatballs and Chop Tchop was fantastic. The Mai Tai's are from the original recipe and - wow they are great!

We loved Universal sooooo much last month we are returning in 2 months to do it all over again!

You will love the PBH, its one of my favorite Hotels anywhere. The size of the rooms are tremendous, much bigger than Disney....You will not be disappointed.

we are also first timers crossing over to stay onsite at universal and will be on the club level at portofino Bay. I even had the same question to ask, what a co-incidence. When will you be there? Don't suppose the last weekend in May???

No, we're heading up June 10 and checking in on June 11. I wanted to stay on site June 10, but I'm having a hard time getting a room. I really don't want to pay for the Club Floor since it will be aroun 9 or 10 PM when we check in so I'll probably find something off site for the first night.
