So I am a WDW vet and new to DL. I'm looking to make PS reservations for a couple of meals, but I had a couple questions about differences between WDW and DL. Do you need to make the reservations 60 days before each reservation? Or do they do it like WDW where you can call 60 days from the 1st day of your resort reservation and make dining reservations for the next 10 days of your trip? My 60 day window is coming up soon, so thanks for the help.

Also, what time do they start taking reservations?

Looking forward to this trip!

It is a little different. At WDW you can make reservations 180 days from your trip, and you often need to do just that. At Disneyland it's not quite as urgent. You should be able to make dining reservations 60 days from the first day of your stay for your entire trip, but I've recently heard some folks saying that there is a problem with the online reservation system and they haven't been able to do that lately, even for WDW. The CS restaurants don't get nearly as full as quickly as those at WDW, so like I said, it's not urgent for you to make all of your reservations 2 months in advance. I went with my family in mid-July 2010 and were able to walk up to the Blue Bayou in the morning and get a reservation for that evening.

At DL, you make them 60 days before the date you want. But you can often get them within 2 weeks without any problem. If you have a LARGE group (more than 6) and you want to eat at a specific time, you might want to make sure you have them at least 30 days out. But even today, for a party of 6, I got reservations for the exact time for April 14.

Yes 60 days out from each day. DLR does not allow one to book for the their entire legth of stay prior to the 60 day out time frame for each day. Most people wait till 60 days out from their last day of vacation and then book all at the same time. Restaurants don't book up quickly the way they do at WDW, so no need to worry.

If you are staying at one of the 3 DLR hotels you can just call Vacation Planing and give them your dates, party size and times and they will make all of your ressies and have an itinerary waiting for you at check in.

If memory serves me well the ressie line opens at 8AM PST (10AM for those in Illinois) but I could be wrong, as I haven't made a ressie since last Oct and my 60 days out for my July trip is still 2 months out!

Have a great time!!!
