PS before ressies?

I haven''t made my ressies for Dec yet for our resort, but could I make them for the restaurants?

Also, can I make ressies without officially having the DDP yet? We're going to get it, but we have to wait for our schedules for winter sports to come out (we're coaches).

This past winter, I made ADRs for our May trip before I had booked our room. When talking to the CM on the phone, he asked if we were doing the Disney Dining Plan & I told him "we're thinking about it, but not sure yet". It didn't seem to matter at all.

I must have called Disney Dining 5 times to make/change ADRs before I finally added the Dining Plan. Each time they did ask if we were using it & my response was always the same "not sure yet".

We make ADR's all the time without staying on property. The CM's don't seem to care. It probably has to do with how they link the reservation in their computer but you don't have to be staying there to make reservations 180 days in advance.
