PS at the Poly and parking

hi again! if you're staying off site and have PS at the poly for the luau can you park there for the day? i'm thinking "no", but i could be wrong.

Security has been pretty tough these days. Most of the Deluxe Resorts will issue a 3 hour only parking pass but you have to have a PS at that resort.

As mentioned, Disney strongly discourages people from parking at the monorail resorts to go to the MK. They issue 3 hour parking permits and there have been a few reports here on the DIS of cars being towed.

The Poly is very close to the TTC. Just park there, and when you leave the MK for the Poly, you can either take the boat or the resort monorail to get to the Luau! Afterwards, you can walk back to the TTC or jump on the resort monorail.

Another option is to move your car from the TTC to the Poly before the luau. I'd recommend that if you are going to the late performance. It can be a long lonely walk to your car in the TTC if the trams have stopped running. Just tell the guard at the entrance you are going to the luau. Shouldn't be a problem parking there just before the luau.

I imagine the 3 hour window would be OK for a general dinner at a restaurant, but for the Luau it might be cutting it close, especially if you arrived a bit early for a look-see at the Poly etc. Maybe for the Luau they have some "special" parking pass?? Somebody will probably know--.
Should add that you do not have to have a PS somewhere to park at the Poly (or any other Disney Resort). Many do, and the guard will have a list, but if you just wanted to stop in and shop, eat, etc, you can do so. You'll get the standard 3 hour pass.
