Proximity to WL restaurants?

Hi! This will be our family's first stay at FW cabins. A few years ago we ate dinner at a restaurant in WL and loved it. Are FW and WL actually at the same location? Forgive the confusion if not (I think the "Wilderness" part of the names is getting me), but I was wondering if we could actually walk to dinner at WL from whatever cabin we have at FW. Probably not, right? We will have our vehicle with us, and probably will not rent a golf cart, since I have heard they are extremely expensive and we are going for 8 days. Thanks in advance!

You can walk on the path between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. It is quite a walk and it is not lit at night. You would probably find it more convenient to take the boat. It goes directly over there from the campground and then on to the Contemporary. By the way, you will love the cabins.

The boats that travel from FW to WL & MK are great! From the cabins, however, it might be quicker to take a bus to WL. Enjoy your dinner at Whispering Canyons, or Artists Point!

With either the bus or boat, you would have to travel through Ft. Wilderness to the Settlement area. The walking path is also down by the Settlement Area.

The boat would be your quicker option, as most of the time it goes to Wilderness Lodge first.

The bus would go to TTC first, then over to Wilderness Lodge.

And as others said, there is the walking path across from the petting zoo near the settlement area. It is a nice shady walk if your going in the afternoon. I have also always come across a deer or two when taking that path. As long as you don't move quickly, the deer will just stand there and watch you.
