For 30 years The Greater Governor Mifflin League's Community Days has been held annually over the week including July 4th. The week concludes with a fireworks display on Saturday night, thousands attend each year.
This year almost spelled doom for the popular show as the school district is replacing the football field, where the display is launched, with astroturf.
