DD's dream was to ride a horse, so last week she went to an all day horse camp. She was in heaven. On Friday they have a Horse Show for parents and the riders are judged on riding and jumping. DD took 1st in riding and 2nd in jumping! She was beaming. I was so excited for her since she had never been on a horse. Of course, I told her not to expect a horse from Santa! :lmao: Here are some pics of her (no worries, I don't think you can really see her face that well). Thanks for letting me share!

Here she is jumping:

GOOD FOR HER!!!!
love the pics ashley! that's a nice proud mommy moment!!!

and i don't know why santa can't bring a horse for christmas:confused3
j/k!!!

That is wonderful. My sister in law rides in michigan. She is 17 and loves it. We told her that she couldn't have a horse for Christmas either. We meaning my husband and myself used to buy her the BIG presents for the holidays. She was only 1 when I started dating my DH. She is my DH's half sister. Then her brothers came along and the presents got smaller. Then we had our own kids and the presents are alot smaller. Oh well I guess for her wedding maybe.
I'm glad your dd had a great time.

Thanks y'all! Her best friend did camp too and best friends mom and I told the girls we just had no place to keep a horse, we were pretty sure it was against the deed restrictions to have one. :lmao: Of course, they came back saying that we could board the horses at the camp. Yep, the camp did a good job of promoting themselves. :scared:

Way to go Ashley's DD!!! She looks like a true pro at that!

Tell your DD will get a horse when my DD gets a BRAND new car.. it just isn't gonna happen! LOL

Great job to her- I remember horse camp from when I was a child. We still go riding together sometimes on vacation. Maybe instead of buying a horse you could go on a trail ride at Fort Wilderness next time your in Disney. Not quite the same thing but a great consolation prize instead.

Wow, that's a great idea!!! Disney and horse back riding all in one- she will think she's in heaven!

YAY! Congrats to DD that is AWESOME!!

I keep asking Santa for a horse....but nothing yet.

DD is taking riding lessons here and loves it. I showed horses growing up and miss riding sooooo much. DH just keeps saying "No". But we keep working on him!!

Someday....

I rode all my life and even rode for my college. Sadly I haven't been on a horse since graduation! :sad1:
There is something about a girl and a horse.

Congratulations to her! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

My 13 year old niece rides and competes in shows. The night before any competition she comes over and I french braid her hair. It's a tradition now.:goodvibes

She now competes in the jumping class.:scared1: She has taken a few face plants and eaten some dirt, :scared1: even unfortunately in a competition but she climbs right back and continues on. She is braver than I.

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: She's much braver than me! Yowza, no way. DD will probably be the same way.

She's too funny, apparently a week at horse camp has made her an expert. DH asked her the difference between Western and English (which is what she learned) riding..... 20 minutes later we had a complete and very thorough explanation. :lmao:

Good for her, learning about things you enjoy is easier than say, schoolwork.;)
