I need some ideas for breakfasts with protein. I do NOT like eggs at all. I like smoked salmon but this could get pretty expensive...

I am on Weight Watchers so I prefer low "point" foods.

Thanks.

I also find I need protein to start my days. I usually spend Sunday evening grilling chicken breast, turkey burgers, and small salmon steaks. I keep the flavors very mild by not highly seasoning them when they are cooking. I marinate the chicken breast in fat free italian dressing before grilling it to keep it moist. Another alternative I use and cook ahead of time is turkey breakfast sausage. I eat these types of protein on a light english muffin for breakfast each morning. I know some people swear by the power of peanut butter in the morning, but I usually prefer the "substantialness" of meat. I hope that helps.

I just got the Eating for Life cookbook and there is a recipe for Chocolate Oatmeal. Sounds gross, but I just tried it and it was GOOD! :thumbsup2

1/3c Oatmeal (not instant, I used the Quick kind)
1/2c Water
1 scoop Chocolate Protein Powder (I used the kind from Hi Health)

Mix all these together and microwave for 1.5-2 minutes.

Then mix in:
1tbsp natural peanut butter (I used regular creamy Jif)
Splenda to taste (I used a very tiny amount)

Pour 1/2c skim milk on top and enjoy! It is really filling, I was surprised. I will definitely be making it again.

turkey bacon, lettuce tomato sandwhiches on light wheat bread

oatmeal with cinnamon or brown sugar

do you like berries and oatmeal? I have an oatmeal crisp that would be great for bkfst...with some ff plain or vanilla yogurt

WW Smoothies are 1 pt...

baked oatmeal is good too...ask for recipe if you'd like!!

Yes, could you please post the baked oatmeal recipe? I didn't know that oatmeal had that much protein in it...
Thanks.

yes I will post it later today after church

I don't know that it has a lot of protien but it does have fiber which makes you feel fuller and gives you more energy and so on...

I sitting here while eating breakfast - half a can of baked beans with the little susages (or maybe franks in your language!!!) in them - I have a scrambled egg on top too to boost the protein, but the beans and sausages work just as well.

Cottage cheese is a good source of protien, and so is yogurt. I usually alternate between eggs and yogurt to get a protein in in the morning.

Years ago I always ate one slice of bread (the 40 calorie), with cottage cheese on top, added a pineapple ring, sprinkled with cinnamon. Then toasted to crisp up the bread. I think it's an old WW recipe. It's good and filling. :)

I like really crispy bits of bacon, I break them up small and nibble them over an hour or so... but that's a weekend treat.

weekdays I have a protien shake or atkins breakfast bar.
