Protecting Tiny Ears During Fireworks/Shows?

Hello all,

This November we will be taking our kids to WDW for the first time- our daughter will turn 4 while we're there and our son will be ~4 months old (yeah we're insane, but this trip has been planned since before he was conceived!). While we're not planning to do many nighttime activities, since we mostly want to take it slow and make sure everyone has time to rest, we obviously want to see Happily Ever After (which includes fireworks, if I'm not mistaken).

What's your favorite ear protection to use for teeny-tiny ones (in this case, the baby) for fireworks at the parks? In your opinion, would the 4-year-old need some as well? I don't remember the fireworks at MK, or any of the shows in the other parks, being that loud, but I want to take extra precautions for the baby.

Thoughts?

We never used hearing protection for fireworks. Typically my children slept through them anyway! When we take the kids to the car races we use ear muffs but I think that would be rather overboard for fireworks. Just my opinion and yes I know others will disagree.

We have 2 sets, Baby Banz (from Amazon) and a pair from Academy. The Baby Banz are much better, and are a necessity for my littles. You won't be alone in using them, I promise. In fact we always have quite a few people asking where we got them, and mentioning that it's a great idea.

On our last trip, our 4 month old slept in the baby carrier through Star Wars fireworks and wishes and part of Illuminations on different nights with the Baby Banz. Our 4yo had her own hearing protection and she chose to wear them during some fireworks and also during Mickey's Backyard BBQ. Some of that stuff is just LOUD, and I think it helped keep her from getting overstimulated. Wish we'd done it sooner.
