Protecting the paper tickets

For my trip in May, I bought tickets through LMT (Thanks to those who shared the free first year code!). This will be our first trip using the paper tickets you get at the turnstiles. I'm concerned that they are going to get worn out, making fastpass retrieval difficult and such. Does anyone have any tips for protecting them? Maybe a plastic sleeve to put them in without a lanyard?

We are going to be at DL for 5 days on our next trip and we'll end up with paper tickets like you. I'm going to get one of those WITZ waterproof badge holder thingies like this --> https://www.amazon.com/WITZ-Waterpr...&qid=1488726956&sr=1-12&keywords=badge+holder. On a previous trip to DL, I spent $7-$8 on one of those plastic ticket holder things that you can attach to the end of your lanyard, but it fell off and I temporarily had lost all of our tickets in it. Ack! The WITZ one seems a lot more sturdy, so I'm going to give that one a try.

They're not really paper they're much more sturdy than that and should they get soaked guest services will replace them no problem. I really wouldn't worry about it.

I have a couple of business card holders--I usually use one of those. It's great--small and lightweight, and just the right size to hold tickets AND fast passes!

I haven't had a problem either with just keeping them in my wallet or purse in an easy to access place. Unlike annual passes which you can use for discounts and may take out more often, you are ONLY going to be taking these out for Fast Passes. Also, take a pic of the front and back so if you do lose them you have documentation.

Remember that most day and week trippers are using those paper passes. If they were a constant tear and soak problem Disney would need to consider a different option. As it is they are sturdy and last the week without problem. I have used one of those clear Disney pockets someone mentioned that attaches to my lanyard and I use it to carry our tickets/APs along with my ID and Credit Card, but you could just as easily use a pocket in your wallet, purse, body bag, etc. (whatever you bring to carry your ID and Credit Card).

They are pretty durable.

Tip: Take a picture of the ticket will your cell phone (bar code side)...that way if they get worn out, lost, or stolen Guest Services can easily re-issue you a new ticket if they have the bar code number. That should be SOP for any paper ticket these days.

BTW, I stand corrected on the whole park hoppers are always paper thing ... from another thread:

Are the plastic cards that you get at say Safeway for a multi day park hopper the actual ticket once activated or are is the card you purchase just like a voucher and they print your actual paper ticket at the gate?...I always though they were just vouchers.

No, they are usually the actual ticket, and look similar to an annual pass.

(note: can't figure out how to multi quote, sorry!)

We'll probably use our USO waterproof lanyards. It will hold the ticket plus a credit card and some cash. That way I don't have to worry about anything falling out of my pockets.

As much as I LOVE my witz "see it safe" case that hangs from my Ravenclaw lanyard, it's not to protect tickets. The "paper" tickets are a tyvek/paper combo. Tyvek is the stuff we wrap houses with to help them be waterproof. The tickets can withstand a lot. :)
