Pros/Cons of online check in???

For my upcoming trip, I'm holding two reservation packages - one room for me, one for my parents. The second one is in my dad's name, but all the other information is my information and linked to my account b/c I'm handling all the booking/tickets/scheduling/ADRs/MDE/etc. Sometimes I can see the info for both reservations in MDE; sometimes I have to dig and dig for it and it doesn't want to show up. Normally I'd do online check in, but for this complicating factor, I want to check-in in-person at the desk to make sure everything is right. Also I need to pick up my birthday button and first visit buttons for my folks (it's technically not their very first visit, but they haven't been in over 20 years). If not for that, I'd do online check in.

No cons at all, we go ahead and always select an early check in anyway, because we drive and usually arrive early but it gives us an assigned room if we end up late due to traffic, accidents etc.
IF we arrive early and the desk is empty, we will still go to the desk and check in there and they have always had another room to give us but if we are just wanting out of the car and want to wander or shop or eat, we will just park and take off for the day and wait for our text to alert us of our room number!
