DD is 3. She had just woken up from a nap so still needed her teddy for security. It was fine with me. She ended up playing with another little girl at the table next to us one night on the floor with their dolls.
DS didn't stay with us for the entire meal. When Rudy took our order & would tell him that DS had a date with Snow White or Goofy in the club & could he eat ASAP. His chicken strips came out with our drinks & he could be taken to the club by 7:45 after finishing his desert. That let me leave before the entree was brought out so that the adults could enjoy the rest of our dinner and some nice conversation. Honestly, when the kids did all stay with us like for Dreams, they were no problem. They sat together at one end & the adults sat at the other. We were tablemates with fellow DISers & the four of them ate & played at the table. They were really very good considering we sat for at least 1 1/2 hours.
Early worked for us because by 3/3:30 the kids were worn out & we either went to a movie so DD could fall asleep & DS could sit in one place & rest, or we took them to the room for a nap. One of us stayed with them while the other went out on their own for a bit. We were able to get dressed without a fuss & most nights dressed the kids in their sleep & woke them up on the way down to dinner.
Pippy, I was amazed at how well the kids took to the characters. I hadn't expected anything at all. We went to MK on Thursday before the cruise & they saw Mickey for the first time. Both just gave him a hug & loved it. I had to get the small shutters package because of the picture they took of DD with her idol Cinderella.
