Pros and Cons of our 12/6 Western Cruise

No, I'm not... my HAIR is. Takes forever to get it to look good- so I go around constantly with it not looking good... fix it only for church and special occasions. I'm the epitome of a low-maintenance gal... believe me. LOL

What is the difference in Early verses late seating? Early is at 6:00? Is Late at 8:00? There is only 1 show each night offered in between them? Do I need to know at booking which seating I would like? Thanks, lots of questions I know!:D

One is at 6:00- late is 8:30 I believe.
There is 2 shows- so no matter what seating you have you can see them. Either before eating at 8:30 or after eating at 6:00 (in other words- while the others on the other seating are eating- you're watching the show)

I do believe you request early or late dinner- atleast DU asks this on the reservation request. I'm sure your preference is not always guaranteed though.

Oh and btw pippy.... my "getting ready" also includes helping DH know what to wear (LOL) and getting 3 kids presentable also... including 2 girls that require hair coiffing also. LOL

When we booked, only late was available so we had no choice, but they did put us on the waiting list for early. I am going to have that removed tho, I'd rather do the late and not rush around... :teeth:

Me too! I'm afraid they'll probably have us in early seating because of our children- but hopefully we can get late. It just suits us SO much better with our normal life schedule- not to mention the added benefit of not having to rush back early to get ready for early dinner and such. Plus my kids would do better watching the show beforehand-I know that from LOTS of experience of going to the movies/dinner here at home! If we went afterwards- we'd have the youngest two in our laps asleep the entire time... although they'd stay awake just fine EATING, a late movie does that to them everytime. LOL Our idea of a great time watching a show/movie is NOT with a 40lb and 54lb child in our laps limp as rag dolls. LOL

DD is 3. She had just woken up from a nap so still needed her teddy for security. It was fine with me. She ended up playing with another little girl at the table next to us one night on the floor with their dolls.

DS didn't stay with us for the entire meal. When Rudy took our order & would tell him that DS had a date with Snow White or Goofy in the club & could he eat ASAP. His chicken strips came out with our drinks & he could be taken to the club by 7:45 after finishing his desert. That let me leave before the entree was brought out so that the adults could enjoy the rest of our dinner and some nice conversation. Honestly, when the kids did all stay with us like for Dreams, they were no problem. They sat together at one end & the adults sat at the other. We were tablemates with fellow DISers & the four of them ate & played at the table. They were really very good considering we sat for at least 1 1/2 hours.

Early worked for us because by 3/3:30 the kids were worn out & we either went to a movie so DD could fall asleep & DS could sit in one place & rest, or we took them to the room for a nap. One of us stayed with them while the other went out on their own for a bit. We were able to get dressed without a fuss & most nights dressed the kids in their sleep & woke them up on the way down to dinner.

Pippy, I was amazed at how well the kids took to the characters. I hadn't expected anything at all. We went to MK on Thursday before the cruise & they saw Mickey for the first time. Both just gave him a hug & loved it. I had to get the small shutters package because of the picture they took of DD with her idol Cinderella.

Ps. Who's the "lego" man in your sig pic? LOL

*grin* That's the snoring Lego man that my kids have to hug when we go to Downtown Disney.... He's part of the family now, I think... at least HE doesn't argue with me!

I didn't mean that in a bad way with the comment about the teddy/dolls. It would be fine with me too- I only commented on it because that's exactly how MY daughter is too (coincidentally she's 3 also) and I can totally see that teddy and/or dolls will be with her regardless of what event it is, how dressed we are, for pictures, etc. There is no talking her out of it even for a minute (we don't even bother trying)- her "babies" go with her period. LOL

lbgraves-waiting until after dinner for formal photos is a great idea! Thanks!

LOL
I never saw the lego man and honestly thought that was a picture of someone covered up with legos (in the picture I mean- not in real life covered in legos) LOL
