Pros and cons of each resort

I've decided to make my own lists, but can anyone link me to ones already made? I'd love a place to start, rather than trying to shake all the information out of various parts of my brain and/or the internet! (I feel sure I'm likely to miss something important - like last night, when I was thinking that, hey, maybe ASMu could be in the running for us! until a comment jogged my memory that the walls between rooms are especially thin. So much for that!)

Do you have any particular resorts in mind? Just a general "give me the pros and cons of EVERY Disney resort" seems like a bit of a reach.

Not a reach at all - I have 2 years to plan and don't know what (if any) deals I'll be able to get when the time comes. So yeah, everything is in play. ETA: except the All Stars and Fort Wilderness

Just to clarify, I'm not asking people to write out pros and cons themselves, but rather to link me to lists that have already been made, if they know of any.

Also, there really aren't that many resorts at WDW.

Disney use to do this - okay you can still do it - but it takes work and you can only compare 4 at once.

also if you can tell what you are looking for - just a room (value), a nicer room and a slide(moderates), much nicer room and generally a pretty nice view and closer to one or two parks (deluxes), a kitchen or kitchenette plus washer/dryer in the room - then delxue vilaa

It really depends on what type of preferences you have and how much money you are willing to part with.

If I had a more flexible budget, I would choose a resort based on the jogging paths available. I get in around 15 - 20 miles every trip and so some resorts would feel a bit redundant or claustrophobic to me. The POP is perfect for my budget now because of Hourglass Lake and having AoA connected to the POP at multiple locations and the theming changes with every group of buildings.

Others prefer restaurant choices, proximity to the parks or DTD, pool theme, room size and amenities....

After you look at some of the general lists, take some time to come up with a list of preferences you have and don't be afraid to include some that are not the most common (like jogging for me). There are enough Disney fanatics out there that you can find out about almost anything before you go.

Have fun planning!

Thank you! After doing the math based on current rack rates, possible room-only discounts, and renting DVC points, I've only managed to eliminate about 5 places. We have pretty broad needs that could be met by most of the resorts, which is why I'm having trouble. Oh, and POFQ is out because I can't get over how terrified I am of those mask/head things hanging in the food court! :rotfl2:
