Pro's and Cons -AllStar Sports

This will be my first time at the AllStar Sports and a solo one at that.

Could you tell me your pro's and con's of this resort.

Pros - It's clean, the theme is cute, the buses are great, and you are at Disney!

Cons - I don't really have any. You really don't have to worry about the size of the room being a solo traveler. There are a lot of kids running around so that could be a con.

I agree with what Bobcat said. I stay at Sports ALL the time!

Are the rooms at the All Star Resorts a lot smaller?

All Star rooms are 260 sq. ft, compared with 314 for PO and CSR; 340 for CBR; 344 for AKL std room and 381 for deluxe room; 350 for WL; 380 for YC & BC all the way up to 400 for GF and 409 for Poly; and 422 for Boardwalk Inn.

We, family of 4, have stayed at All-Star Sports a few times. The room while smaller than moderates and deluxes is fine. I base that statement on: you are at WDW and will most likely spend that overwhelming majority of your time someplace other than your room.

Note: On our last trip we stayed at CBR. I kinda' missed All-Star Sports...

rickc, when are you going to ASSports solo? I'm also going there solo in November, only 1 night. Stayed at ASMusic last year-biggest complaint was the long, alley-like layout. I walked around the other AS, and Sports seemed really nicer.

We stay at the All Stars frequently. We love them. The pros are nice theming, value, nice variety at the food court, and the rooms are neat and well laid out to maximize space. The only con we really have at the All Stars, is that the lines for the bus tend to be long. The busses come often, so you don't really spend more time, but, you line up, single file, in the sun waiting on the bus so it seems like a longer wait.

Pros- Cute, definitely unique and a one of a kind place to stay!

Food court is has a nice selection. It's nice to have the food court for snacks and a cheaper place to eat.

In room pizza delivery and take out.

Pools are large and heated.

Very clean resort, rooms were always spotless.

Busses were reliable, never waited long.

They're a great value because I think you just can't beat that on-site magic!!


Cons- Can be loud and attracts many school groups etc..

No sit-down restaurant available.

Pools don't have a slide, no hot tub or quiet pools.

Rooms are smaller but we never felt crowded. Rooms also open to the outside motel style.

Busses can get VERY crowded especially when they go to all 3 All star resorts. Had to stand many times.

Bus stops are always the farthest(it's not THAT far-lol) from the park entrances.


I really enjoyed our stays at the All-Stars. I've stayed at many resorts, deluxe(CR,WL,AKL,and Poly), moderate(POFQ) and value(ASSp,ASmu) and have loved them all for their own unique reasons.

Pro: I can always find things in their gift shop, especially on the last day of our stay, when I'm trying to draw out the last moment as long as possible and have to buy one more thing from Disney. We like the food court--really great smoothies. Rooms have recently been refurbished.

Cons: Apparently none, check out my signature line. (L)L)

thanks for all of the input.....it is very appreciated. I have stayed at the allstar music 4 or 5 times and always enjoyed that.


To Simbasmom........I will be arriving at the world on Thursday Oct 24th and departing November 1st in the afternoon.

We always stay at one of the value resorts because of the biggest "pro" of all--cost !! With an active family, I don't want to pay tons for a room we are just not in......we spend it elsewhere-- no problem.
Set up some meals around the lagoon at GF (afternoon tea), Poly, Contemp, etc. so you can check them out anyway.
