We just got approved for our financing this past Wednesday. I assume at most we will have to pay 2.5 months worth of 2005 prorated dues.

When will this be due?
How will I know how much to pay?
Do they send me a bill and I write them a check or do they automatically take it out of my account??
And if they take it out of my account when would this occur??

I want to make sure I have the $$ in my account.

DVC was giving free dues the rest of the year, don't know if they still are. Worst case is the rest of the year from when you signed assuming you got points that were good then. This will be included in your closing statement.

We had to pay dues from when we paid our down payment, and they billed us - Ours were due Nov 1st.

I didn't receive any indication of free dues. I got all of 2005 points and understood that I had to pay the prorated dues for the remainder of the year.

So it sounds like they will bill me and give me a due date?? If so that works out good!

Yes - we got a bill, we had about 3 weeks from when we got the bill to when it was due, and they prorated the dues to the date we actually paid the down payment. I believe we got the bill right after the closing went through. Got the bill before we got the deed! :flower:

This late in the year they often just roll the prorated dues into the next year and just charge you a little more each month. We have had this happen twice with add ons that we did late in the year, as well as with our original purchase as I recall.

When I did my add-on at the end of August, I didn't receive the prorated dues statement until after I officially closed in October. I decided to have my dues automatically withdrawn from my checking account each month so the statement indicated that the drafts would begin November 1st (which they did). If you decide to pay them in lump sum, I'd imagine you would have a couple of weeks until the due date and could either send a check or charge it to a credit card.

Your 2006 dues will be due by the end of January and you can set that up for monthly debit or pay the lump sum in January either by check or credit card.
