Proposal Ideas!!!!!!!!!

Yes it is, wow, you have a great memory. DS grad 2004 and will grad 2008 from PC w/Master's. His DGF is a 2006 grad. His younger bro is a 2008 grad. DGF's parents both are PC grads as well as most of her Aunts and Uncles. Her dad actually was a good buddy of the now President Fr. Shanley when they attended PC together. :goodvibes

It looks as though they will get married :bride: :groom: at St. Domenic's on the campus of Providence College in Spring, early Summer 2009. Both DS and DGF are very friendly with two Friars who will officiate the ceremony. All of DS' roomies from PC will be Ushers as well as his bro Best Man. DGF will have all PC roomies as Bridesmaids except her DSis Maid of Honor, who is graduating Seina College in Albany.

Can you just see the Alumni picture for the Providence College Digest at DS' wedding, there will be so many, they will need a really wide lens camera!!! :yay:

They are looking in Newport for a reception. :woohoo:

As far as PC and the proposal, funny quite a few friends have mentioned that but he really has his heart set on Boston or NYC...with more leaning towards the BIG APPLE!! :goodvibes

I have not seen you around much, kpm, but I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS on the babe!!!!

Wow, lots of PC connections for this wedding :goodvibes DH and I were married at the Chapel and it was spectacular. My advice is for them to pick a date and book early. We did not get our first choice date a year in advance because it's so popular. PM if you have any questions about wedding planning in RI. We just went though it 2.5 years ago and I would be happy to pass on some recommendations. Congrats to you and your son :)

Ahhh...THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! As I re-read my post...I meant to say my youngest son WILL BE a 2008 graduate of PC!!! :teacher:

Yes, I think, DGF called the wedding planning dept at PC and they did tell her there was quite the list for St. Domenic's..but you make a great point of actually getting "on the list" and picking a date...hmm...:upsidedow

Oh, and St. Domenic's is just that absolutely spectacular!! :goodvibes

And as far as PC goes, man o man that PC community is amazing. My older DS is on campus all the time, whether or not its class or meeting up with alumni buddies to just grab lunch and visit and DGF is going back to PC for her Master's and youngest DS is on the Friar Club living and loving it 24/7!!! :teeth:

CONGRATULATIONS ON SUNDAY!!!!!! :goodvibes

thanks!

unfortunately my boyfriend is too stubborn to want to get married yet (although he'll be a 4th year graduate student in the fall and we've been living together for 2 years now). i keep telling myself, good things come to those who wait! :lmao:

Beautiful rings.

They (or he) already have that much of the wedding planned & they aren't even engaged yet? I'm surprised then that he hadn't planned the proposal. Just seems backwards. LOL :)

I'm sure whatever he comes up with will be fine & special for the 2 of them.

Best of luck to them.

Thanks, Splsh for the kind words!! LOL...actually I think they started planning on or about the 2nd date!!! :lmao:

I think it all comes down to when you are young and crazy in love...you start planning!!! :rotfl2:

They "ROCK" each other's world and DH & I have seen that now for 2 years...but I will say I think they are a bit young (24yo&22yo) to settle down but heck it is their life...;)

I still like the idea of the TOP OF THE ROCK, in NYC, as they not only rock each other's world but he will be giving her a rock!!! :rotfl:

I LOVE the NYC idea... Those rings are GORGEOUS!

A friend of mine was proposed to in a pumpkin patch -- they went to pick pumpkins and he'd had "Will you marry me?" painted on the pumpkin he picked. She was totally surprised.

DH proposed to me at a professional baseball game on the big screen. I kinda "knew" he was going to do it though. He was really nervous, and it was the ONLY baseball game we'd ever been to. One guy stood up halfway down and held up a beer. He said, "Bill, I bought you a beer!" And then he pulled out a cup from underneath and said, "And I got you an empty cup 'cause from now on, she's gonna take half of everything!" It was hilarious!

but of course, my mind is relatively blank other than Yankee Stadium, which I would have loved, but Sox fans may not appreciate nearly as much. ;)

The observation deck is open at the Empire State building...
Carriage ride in Central Park...
I know Toys R Us in Times Square will put a message on a screen outside...
A Dinner cruise thru NY harbor - a few different companies do them

I don't know when the next Yankees/Sox game is in "da Bronx" but I'm sure tickets will be relatively easy to come by based on the result of the last 2 series. :headache:

Tell your son the rings are beautiful..he has fabulous taste!

PS - My sister is a PC alum - class of 1994 :thumbsup2

Thank you for the comments on the ring!! :goodvibes

Do you know who he would contact about TOYS R US?? That would be so wicked cool!!! I would love to know the cost of that? :confused3

I am so guessing the Jumbotron in Times Square is probably wicked big bucks!!

Ahh and you have a FRIAR :teacher: among your family members!!! :thumbsup2

It's in In Times Square - if he called the main number I'm sure they could give him info. They have a desk set up in the store, but I'm sure they could give him the info over the phone.
There are several (too many to count) jumbo-trons in Times Square, each owned and controlled by a different company. Prices would probably depend on who owns it and the size.

OMG!!!!!!!! That is so AWESOME!! I just called, spoke with THOMAS, who is handling all the scheduling for the Marquee, he said DS just needs to come in one day before, say what he wants for the Marquee and then pick the day and the time to air the proposal and it will be on the Marquee for 30 seconds!!!!!! I just think that is so unique.

Oh...and only $29.99 but with the coupon you attached makes it $19.99!!! :yay:

OMG, DS will think this is hysterical. He will love it and so will his DGF when she sees it. DS is such a character, this is SO him, to do something like this for her!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much, mom2aredhead!!! :thumbsup2
