holy crap that ring is gorgeous!!!!:goodvibes

as for the proposal ideas, i think what he's got are great. my only suggestion might be to keep it simple and sweet. however i think that can be achieved easily with the NYC stuff. he obviously already knows he wants it to be somethign that they both love.

maybe for keeping it simple and sweet, something like just going for a walk, then finding a bench somewhere to sit down and just observe the world, then pop the question. ya know one of those being in the moment things.

no matter what he decides i'm sure it will be great!! congrats!!!:goodvibes

:yay: Hey Kar!

I would go for the NYC idea. :thumbsup2

There are plenty of great spots in Central Park to drop to one knee.

He could always plan a romantic weekend trip with tickets to a Broadway show as his excuse for taking her there. :rolleyes1

Keep us updated.

OH KAR...our little Seethe is growing up!! You must be over the moon! WOO HOOSERS!! YIPEE!!! What a proud moment this must be! Hugs to you Kar...looks like you just wrangled yourself a daughter! ;)

PS He has great taste in rings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE the Central Park idea!!

I think NYC is a wonderful idea!! Baseball games...I don't know if I'd personally want so many baseball fans, some possibly drunk, have all their attention on me. Kinda puts you on the spot, you know? I mean I doubt she'd say no...but for me that would just be awkward. NYC in Central Park seems so much more personal, even if people do see it happening.

The rings are absolutely stunning!! :)

What an amazing ring! He should definately pick somewhere that they can return to in the future... somewhere that's not going to disappear or get knocked down etc. My dh proposed in St Marks Square in Venice, we havent been back, but we know the exact spot, and it appears in films and on postcards... and we always get so excited when we see it.

I have a few ideas. In NYC you can put the proposal on the big TV in Times Square. I worked for a family that that the dh did that. They had a picture of the screen on display. You can also have it on the screen at Yankee Stadium. Central Park is nice too. Perhaps they can ride the carousel and he can make her reach for the golden ring and surprise her? Another idea would be to do it locally in maybe a special spot with just the two of them. Someone could set up a special area in the park with candles and rose petals before they arrive and he could propose there- then they could head to their favorite restaurant or bar to celebrate and he could have all of their family and friends there to surprise her. Whatever he decides will be wonderful! Congrats to all of you and he did a great job picking out the rings!!!princess:

OH!!! Gorgeous rings!
The only suggestion I can make is to try to make it something special to them. *like the red sox game.
Where was their first date? That is always a good spot to go back to.
Top of the Rock in the city... Giving her the world kind of thing...
My DH took me away for the weekend to "our" special place. He had the wait staff put my ring in a glass covered dish and brought it out at dessert. I LOVED it. Perfect for me. But that is the point. Think and try to make it personal and special.
I know at Yankee stadium you can order "will you marry me" kind of flashes on the jumbotron for about $10. If you want them to announce "A will you marry B" it is $100.
Good luck and how exciting!!!

my fiance's brother just got engaged in nyc times square and im not sure how they did it but it was on a webcam somewhere so pics were taken of the proposal-it really seemed nice
people were standing around while he was down on 1 knee

I'm a big baseball fan.... so you see which way I'm leaning..... ;)

If he does Fenway, wait until after the game when the stadium clears and they turn off the lights (if he can). Yes, I've been at stadiums that late before!!!! It's very peaceful.

Beautiful rings - your son has good taste!!

A carriage ride in Central Park. Or on top of the Empire State Building. I know here in Chicago you can do it after seeing a play propose on stage with the cast around you. We saw that after Phantom one time.

Beautiful rings. Please let us know how he decided to do it.

WOW!! Those rings are stunning!!

THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!!!:cloud9:

Beautiful rings. I´d go with NYC, sounds more romantic to me :)

WOW, many fabulous ideas!!!! :goodvibes :disrocks:

He really likes #1 the Central Park idea, #2, the Carriage idea and #3, the Top of the Rock...as he looks at it he is giving her a "rock"...:lmao:

Planning all this is just sooooo much fun!!!!!!!!

Is this the son that went to Providence College? If so, did his fiancee as well? If the answer is yes to both, maybe they could go back to campus and he could pick a special spot that was memorable to them. He could just tell her he needs to get something, like a tee shirt, at the bookstore to throw her off. Then he could make dinner reservations in Providence. He could try to plan it around a Waterfire too which would be super romantic.

Oh, that ring is so lovely

I adore the idea of him proposing at a Red Sox game. I'd love to be proposed to at Fenway Park, even if there wasn't a game going on!

And of course, the NYC idea sounds nice too. He could take her on a carriage ride through Central Park and propose...or over a nice dinner. Aw, I'm getting all mushy just thinking about it.

Your future DIL is a lucky gal :thumbsup2 Good luck to your DS!

Fenway park tour? Is there anyplace they share?

Congratulations!!

The Bethesda fountain in Central park would be a beautiful spot.......:flower3:

Oh, DS and DGF, just absolutely  the RED SOX...but just this morning, DS thought it would be kind of, sort of impersonal with everyone around YET he loves the idea of possibly using the Jumbotron...:confused3 (curious as to the cost of that)...but another posted said you can request to stay AFTER the game is over and the lights go down!!! :goodvibes

Such hard decisions!!!!
