Hey everyone, I'm currently a college student at VT graduating in 2008. Me and my girlfriend are planning a trip during our spring break which will be during the first full week of March next year, 2008. We've been dating for almost 3 years now and I've been wanting to propose to her for the longest time but the right time just hasn't come around yet. Since we'll be graduating next year, only 2 months after the trip, and the fact that we will be in WDW, I don't think I could come up with a more memorable, or perfect, time or place to propose to her.

I have some ideas about what to do, but have really just started thinking about actually going through the planning for this. I've thought about arranging something at CRT and proposing during the MK fireworks. I love that idea but she loooooooooooooves Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore and I know that she would love it and would never forget it if I was able to get them involved in some way, whether during the fireworks or any other time. I was just wondering if anyone has gone through this before and if, and how, you got any help from Disney in planning it?

I read that Disney has engagement packages but the post was kind of old and wondered if anyone knew of anything newer or if the best idea would be to just call up Guest Relations directly. Anyways, thanks for the help and I can't wait to get this fully planned!

First of Congratulations on your graduation, and the upcoming engagement.

hmmm....ideas.
I know that they do have CRT engagement packages, but have no clue how to arrange that. I would do as you suggested earlier and call Guest Relations.

You could also contact the people that do Gifts of a Lifetime (GOAL). They can set up something special to your liking. I am not sure what the website is, but I am sure that somebody on this board knows.

Best of luck, and please come back to tell us how it goes.

Thanks for that thread, it really helps. By chance, do you know who he finally got a hold of to help him, I sent him a private message but don't think he has a need for the screenname anymore. Do you know if it was Special Events or Disney Floral that ended up helping him in the end? Thanks for the help.

I think this is who he finally got ahold of. It is one lady that does it.

You're gonna wanna contact Special Occasions at 407 824 4477 or by email, wdwcrtsspecialevents@email.disney.com.

Not as romantic as CRT (although I don't find CRT particularly romantic, but I'm one of the few Disney girls without love for Cinderella :rotfl: ) but since she loves Pooh and Co. what about an ADR at Crystal Palace before Wishes? I would make a note when you call that you plan on proposing and call again before you dine to remind them and speak to the manager and see if they (or Pooh or Piglet) can do anything to help! :goodvibes And then when you're done you can go out and watch the fireworks!

Something else fun might be to go on a rollercoaster and as you go on a drop propose. I guess I would like something different and memorable. Or go on Dumbo during wishes and turn around and ask her to marry you.

Maybe you could get one of the characters to carry a sign during the little parade they do around the restaurant that "says will you marry me?" Then have another character give her the ring box. Good luck!

That is absolutely adorable idea.

princessdisneybelle is correct, the number to call to book a CRT Engagement Package IS 407-824-7838. I just booked that for my girlfriend & my trip to WDW in November (it is the first night of our trip and her first trip to Disney!!). You have to call and leave a message detailing what you want to do and they will call you back when they are able (I read somewhere else that there is only one person who books the special occasion requests for CRT, so they are pretty busy). I got a call from "Becky" about a week and a half after I left the message (she called me back during dinner and I had to come up with an excuse why I suddenly lept up from the dinner table, rummaged through my briefcase from work for my Disney Trip folder and darted outside and around behind the shed to take a call!! Yikes!!:scared1: )

Anywho... I had already made a CRT ADR and no-one else was scheduled for the "package" during that time, so she (Becky) just used my original ADR (which meant that I wouldn't have to explain to my DVGF why I had to change our reservation time).

It is NOT a cheap package... but considering the magnitude of the event... I consider it WELL WORTH every penny!

I proposed to my wife of 31 years at Disney in June. It just so happened a castmember saw what I wanted to do and decided to help out a bit. What we ended up having was a personal meet and greet with my wife's favorite character, Mary Poppins. I had Mary Poppins give my wife a pin of Mickey Mouse proposing to Minnie Mouse. While she was turned facing Mary Poppins, I got on bended knee behind my wife and waited. Mary Poppins asked her what the pin looked like and my wife said it looks like Mickey proposing and then Mary Poppins turned to me and said, what do you think? My wife turned around and was totally floored. I proposed, she said yes, thank God and everyone was happy as can be. She had thought she had won a year of a million dreams prize, I told her no, just me...lol. It didn't cost me a thing because it was all arranged by a couple of castmembers that were more than willing to help out. They were as excited as I was. This weekend all the kids and my wife and I are all going away and we'll be renewing our vows!

OMG... this is SUCH a brilliant idea, and different from the "typical" Disney proposal (although I'm totally jealous of any Disney proposal). And you might even get them to do it for free!!

WAIT! I just came up with another Winnie the Pooh idea. Maybe you could somehow incorporate the Winnie the Pooh ride? You'd have to work it out with them ahead of time, but sometimes they stop the ride for people to board. Maybe they could stop the ride for you at the place where they say, "And everyone gathered to say HOORAY" and you could do it then? Maybe they wouldn't be able to work out the timing... but that would be awesome too! I'm excited just thinking about it! (Sorry, I love those characters too!)
