Proposal Help

Just under a week to go! I want to thanks breick for offering to help. If anyone else would like to help, that would be great. The more the merrier!

The only thing that I could add would be to choose a proposal spot that has special meaning to your beloved. For example, my DW loves the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House, the Enchanted Tiki Room (original version), or the Polynesian (we both have lived, at different times, in Hawaii) and these are the spots where I would choose to re-propose to my DW. Hope this helps. Congratulations and the best of luck!

Tomorrow is the day! So far this trip has been an unusual adventure. We got stuck on an elevator in a hotel. The AC in my car went out as soon as we entered Florida. My car is also showing other signs of mechanical issues. And I can't find a tool that I thought I packed, so I can't put my seat on bicycle. But knowing what is happening tomorrow is what has gotten me through these issues.

As for the plan, breick was kind enough to scout out a good area with the castle in the background. It sounds like the best spot is right in front of the castle by the partners statue.

I want to thank everyone for all their suggestions and give a special thank you to breick who has helped me pick out the spot and is going to be there to film it. I will post her answer soon after and hopefully post some pics tomorrow night!

I haven't made my final decision yet on where I'm going to do it at other than I know it will be at MK. We get to FW on April 4 but we aren't going to MK until April 6. I was hoping to sneak away and meet the person on the 4th or 5th. I've had the ring since the week before Valentine's Day and it's killing me to hold onto it this long without saying a word, so I want to do it as early as possible. Besides I really don't want to carry it around in my pocket all day for fear of losing it. I read that they just opened part of the space in front of the castle earlier this week. Does anyone know if the view from the front is still being blocked?

I was there last week and the view is not blocked at all except for a lighting booth that is slightly covered but it is not in most pictures. A great place I could think of would be at the top of the main street station. The crowds are often soft there in the morning and it gives a great view of the castle that will not be blocked by other guests. I would actually contact disney about the photographer, in many cases if something special is going to happen they are very good about making it super special.

Other great options are the side street on main street where there are hardly ever any people and its very pretty back there and quiet most times. Oh and a word of warning about the wishing well by the castle, I know that used to be a smoking area and that bothers some people, but it may not be an issue that early.

If she's at all outdoorsy or just likes unique things you could take her to the top of the swiss family robinson tree house and do it there. It has a very unique vibe. Crystal Palace is also great about making it special. I have seen one proposal happen there before and they brought a special gift basket with wedding stuff in it right after the proposal which I assume was planned. It was unique though.

Now if money is no problem, the best place I could think of to propose would be in Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian. It is the nicest restaurant on property and one of the most upscale in the nation. I know they would make it special.

Now one more option in magic kingdom. There is a new space that just opened on each side of the main walkway leading up to the castle just past casey's and the plaza restaurant on either side. It has one fountain on each area that are very impressive and the new area is very well done and quiet beautiful with a great view of the castle on any part of it. If you could secure a fasts ahead of time this is also a special fireworks viewing area with a fastpass use which may be hard to hide. If you could secure one however, as soon as the fireworks end would be a perfect time despite having to risk carrying it all day.

Love the spot near the partners statue. Sending Happy Thoughts your way. Hope all goes well with your proposal pictures ..... and hope she says Y E S !

Sorry to keep you waiting.
Since it was our first day at any of the Disney parks, she agreed to be at rope drop. But we missed the first boat and made it a couple minutes after. This worked out because it allowed breick to get into position by the partners statue. I told my fiance that I wanted to take a picture in front of the castle before the real crowds showed up. She immediately pointed to a photographer on main street. So I had to say lets get closer and get one with the statue as well. I should mention that I was carrying a backpack with the ring in it.
So we get in line for the photographer. While she was distracted, I transferred the ring to my pocket and give breick a nod.
When our time arrived, she went to get in position and I dropped the backpack off by the photographer and flash the ring box. He then attempted to look for the best shot but his camera was on a tripod and couldn't get a good angle.
Fortunately there was a second photographer standing next to him with no line and no tripod. The first photographer asked the second one to take the pictures and whispered what was happening. So the first picture was us standing side by side. Then I started to turn to get down on my knee. She started to ask me why I was moving away from her while they were still taking pictures. Then she realized what I was doing but not before they got a pic with a puzzled look on her face.
Afterwards breick approached us and provided us with the recently engaged buttons and a couple of brand new 2015 pennies to use to make a wish in the wishing well, which we did right away. We then spent the whole day at MK, had a great dinner at the Coral Reef in Epcot, and finished the night off by watching Wishes.
I will try to upload some pics tomorrow. The files are too big to upload and I can't edit them on my phone.

Oh, so wonderful!!! Thanks for sharing! It sounds like it was very magical, just how we all were hoping for!

Congratulations! Sounds like you made it a magical moment. Relax and enjoy the rest of your trip with your beloved.

Very nice. And you'll have something to tell everyone later. I don't think I every formally proposed. We both just came to the conclusion we would get married. The closest I came was , "So, when do you want to get married?" :love:That's romance for you.

It's not too late...you could propose by asking her to renew the vows...this is especially nice for anniversary years ending in "5" or "0"

Ha ha, Jan. We've had so many "0"s and "5"s pass that it would be anticlimactic at this point. August will be 34 years. I used to say we got married when we were 12, but I did the math and that still makes us old. Now I just say it was an arranged marriage before we were born. That gets some funny looks. We are both 29, btw... At least in our own minds.

Having a unique memory of your proposal is a great way to start your marriage. I still remember my proposal to my bride on May 27, 1979 and our renewal of vows on a beach on the island of St. John to celebrate our 25th anniversary.

Here are the pics!
