My family and I (2 adults, 2 children) are planning to visit WDW this December. As we are not from the US, I was wondering what would the proper tipping amount for a town car's driver? Should you tip daily or at the end of the service?

We would like to use a Town Car service from MCO-->WDW Resort --> MCO and, in between, trips for Sea World and Universal Studios. Any favorite service?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Luis Rodriguez

If I get professional, polite, friendly service I tip the towncar drivers 20% of the total fare. For a trip from MCO to WDW back to MCO I would tip the first drive 10% of the total fare and the other drive back to the airport the other 10%.
For example, if the fare was $100 I would tip the first driver at least $10 and the other driver at least $10. Of course that would be if the service was what I felt good and appropriate.

Are you aware of the free transportation to the resorts and airport that Disney provides?

SafetyMom,

Yes, I'm aware of that, thanks. Nevertheless, the problem of going between the resort (we are planning ASMo) and other parks (Sea World, Universal) still remains.

Also, I wonder if people in the States realize that for some foreign visitors the amount (in percentage) of tipping can be very high? In my country (Venezuela), the legal minimun wage is about US$ 200 PER MONTH. It goes without saying that going to the states can be, for some of us, the result of several years of saving and sacrifice (but it is worth it!!!).

Thanks to all four your answers.

Mr. Rodriguez,
I do understand your point. Many people in the U.S. feel this way also. While the minimum wage here is higher, the tipping is an ongoing issue for some. My advice to people is do the best one can and not worry to much about it. I work in a service industry and have been helping people for 30 years, no tipping ever. (hospital !)
Enjoy the country and no worries!
