My wife and I need to submit an updated time for the Princess half. How do I go about doing this? What will I need to submit for a proof of time? Thanks!

You can email a link with the results to runDisney or take a printout of the results with you to the expo. Make sure the printout has the date, distance and name of the race and (obviously) your name and finish time.

I've done both of these to update corral placement and they have worked out fine! :thumbsup2

I think the race time you use cannot be more than 2 years old (at least that's what the pace for Marathon Weekend says...) :confused3

If you believe you will finish the Half Marathon in less than 2:45 hours, proof of time is required for start corral placement. Please provide proof of time at the point of registration.

If you do not provide proof of time at the point of registration or acquire it after you have registered, then email this information to disneysports@trackshack.com before December 1, 2012. After December 1, 2012 you will need to bring proof of your estimated finish time to the Runner Relations booth at the Expo if you wish to have your start corral placement changed. If you listed a race result as proof of time when registering online, then you do not have to do anything further.

Wow, I am surprised that they allow a time for two years...I thought it was a year. I always bring the print-out to the Expo and go to runner relations immediately after picking up my bib. It has been a lot easier than e-mailing them and waiting for a response. Plus, if you decide to do other races after that one and happen to do better, you aren't having to constantly change things. You just never know what races you may be talked into before then. :)

I know! :confused3 Here's the quote from the Marathon Weekend area of the website:

Please provide proof of time at the point of registration.

Proof of time should include name of race, year, distance and time finished (i.e. 2011 Walt Disney World® Marathon - 3:35 OR 2010 Disneyland® Half Marathon - 2:25). If you do not have a proof of time to submit, list "N/A" at the point of registration. Proof of time must be provided from a race 10K or longer. All forms of proof of time must be from a race after July 1, 2010. If you do not provide proof of time you will be placed in the last start corral.

It was 18 months....

Take advantage of what I think is a cut and paste error.

Though to be clear for those who do not think they will finish faster than 5:00 in the full or 2:45 in the half.... No proof is required.

If you have never run a marathon can you show proof from a half? If so, what time would you need to translate to < 5 hours?

You can use proof from a 10 mile or longer race for the full (though, it may still say 10k). If it is 10k, then so much the better.

Roughly, one would need to run a race under these times to think sub 5 hr full

Half - 2:20 - 2:25
10 Mile - 1:40 - 1:50
10k - 58-63 minutes

Ok, I would like to also submit an updated proof of time. What would be looked at more favorably (like getting assigned a corral closer to the front).

1. a 10K result with a mile pace of 8:40
2. a half marathon with a mile pace of 9:10

do they just look at your mile pace for placement? if so, will submit the 10K but wasn't sure if I should submit the slower pace because it is a half marathon

info: I am running the tinkerbell half, if that makes any difference

thanks!

They will look at the Half Marathon. They usually have cut off overall times - like a 2:15 finish or better for Corral B at the Disneyland Half last weekend. So, with that time, you can expect to be placed there assuming that a ton of faster runners aren't around. WDW Marathon weekend usually has a lot more runners than any other race and the first few corrals usually have faster cut off times.

Nobody can maintain their race 10K pace for a half marathon, so I am certain they take it into account. That being said, I don't think it makes a difference which one you use in your case. If you plug your 10K time into McMillan race equivalent calculator, it gives a half marathon time slightly over 2 hrs...essentially a 9:10 pace.

When you enter, put in the appropriate FINISH estimate. In you case, a 2 hour half

thanks to everyone for your help! I will submit my updated proof of time.
