proof of AP pass

I have bought, activated, and used my AP's for 2 trips already. I only have the passes, and no other proof. If they are ever lost, what is the best way to have them replaced. I heard that I should photocopy the backs, but I was not sure if they were talking about the passes or the paperwork I had when I bought the passes?

If you do not have the original receipt, a photocopy of the back of your pass would be the next best thing. I believe they can also re-issue with identification.

Since APs are issued in the name of a person which is printed on each AP, they can be replaced with a drivers license.

Thanks, that is a big relief! I was under the impression that unless you had some proof of the pass itself, it would be almost impossible to replace!

CM's also told me that photo ID (ie state DL's) would work for replacing them.

You only need a driver's license, state ID, or other photo ID. When you heard about "photocopying" the backs, that is for park hopper passes. With the # for the park hopper pass, they could reissue one.

Speaking of ID Guest Services at Epcot was not going to issue annual passes to my mother or two cousins because they only had Passports for photo ID. They print your name on your pass so as long as it matches the passport (photo id) and birthdate what is the problem??? Your home address and personal details are also linked to your pass. The cast member insisted they needed drivers licences to get the pass. Uh, my cousins are 11 and 12. My mother doesn't drive. The girl said they would have to carry their ID around with them in case there was a problem. We've always done that!!! Fortunately for me I had no problems getting an AP at the airport with my Passport.
In the past we've always used our passports for id when purchasing the pass.

Sorry to go off on a rant, that was my long winded way of saying as long as you have photo Id they can issue a new pass if necessary.

What if I child is going (with a school group) and needs her AP replaced? What kind of ID should she bring? My daughter has a passport, but I'd hate for her to lose it there (and I know she would...) but I think her AP is a bit worn from our last trip and needs replacing. If she just has her worn-out AP, will they replace it without ID, and without a parent there?

Photocopy of the passport and photocopy (or hand written copy) of all the codes and names on the back of the admission ticket (any kind).

Also bring some other ID such as school ID card.

Did they eventually get AP's? Perhaps by going to another park's Guest Services?

She eventually gave in and got them their passes. I really don't know what the fuss was about. As long as name matches the photo ID it shouldn't matter whether it is a passport or drivers license. The thing is we've NEVER had trouble getting them in the past 10+ years with our passports. I don't know what this girl's problem was.

Passports are a very acceptable form of ID for activating passes at Disney and at every other place I know of. The CM that waited on you was wrong.

If she was going on a school trip without you, I would have some sort of photo ID made for her, such as a state non-drivers ID or something.

I have never run into that situation, cause I always volunteered to chaperone school trips, and now my boys both have licenses.

I also got them their own health/dental insurance cards.

Heaven forbid, if there is some type of accident on the trip where the chaperones and/or children couldn't speak and identify the group, it will help emergency personnel tremendously if each person has their own picture ID with them.
