I was forwarded the information about this show from a friend who is doing the college program and will be auditioning for this. I thought I'd share the information since I know it was discussed and I hadn't seen if anyone had posted that it will be happening.

SEEKING IMAGINATIVE AND COMEDIC ACTORS TO PORTRAY THE FOLLOWING ROLES:

NEMO – Female, late teens – early 20s. Adorable, endlessly curious, spirited, childlike and fearless, yet at the same time naïve and vulnerable. Bright and youthful mix or belt.

NEMO'S FATHER, MARLIN – Mid 30s to early 40s. Over-protective yet very loving father. Huge heart, great comedic talent. Scared of virtually everything. Baritone, able to handle musical 'patter.'

DORY – 30s. A forgetful, yet very optimistic lady fish and Marlin's companion during his journey. Extremely quirky and an expert with comedic material. Character singer.

MR. RAY – Late 20s to 30s. Fun loving, boisterous elementary school teacher. Loves kids and loves to explore.

BRUCE – Male. 30s. A vegetarian great white shark. Can go from soft shoe to raging Punk. Comedic Baritone and able to handle harmonies.

ANCHOR AND CHUM – Both males. Mid 20s to 30s. Bruce's smaller shark friends. Desperately trying to keep Bruce in check. Smart and comic. Loads of energy. Both able to handle harmonies. Can go from screaming rockers to an elegant soft shoe.

GILL – Male. 30s. A tough talking maverick who befriends Nemo and looks after him. Comes with a great deal of wisdom and history.

DEB, BLOAT, BUBBLES AND PEACH – "The Tank Gang." 2 Males and 2 Females. Great Character types living in the fish tank when Nemo 'drops' in. All must be musical with great energy and comedic timing.

NIGEL – 30s. A peculiar pelican with a soft spot for all species, EXCEPT seagulls. Gossipy, chatty. A know-it-all.

CRUSH – Male 20s to 30s. Laid back and fun-loving 'surfer dude' Turtle. Wise, old father with the ability to 'Rock.' Helps Marlin get to Sydney. 'Beach Boys' High tenor with wonderful falsetto.

Various other ensemble sea creatures that will appear in the ensemble and understudy the principal characters.

All this time I though Nemo was a boy...
Pretty sure Nemo is a boy, but they need a girl to perform him to keep the voice high since he's still a kid.

My dd has been looking at this in the trade papers and can't wait til next year when she is 18 and able to audition here in NYC for Disney stage shows.
Tell your friend in the college program who is auditioning "Break a Leg!"

i thought the proof was when Robert Iger and Disney announced it at the grand opening of Expedition: Everest? lol just joking.

I didn't realize that it had been officially announced before, I had only heard it on these boards as "speculation" or "rumor." I was excited that it's actually going to happen because it's one of my kids favorites. :)

I was so excited to read about it on Deb's site allearsnet.com. I wondered why I hadn't seen anything about it here on the boards? Maybe I just missed it! Thanks for posting this info! We really can't wait because we all love Nemo too! I also read about a Nemo attraction coming to Epcot in the fall. I really hope both are open when we are there in Nov!!!

What do you think "first preview" means? Is that for the public? Do you think there's any chance it may open earlier?..kind of like a soft opening or AP preview?

Oooh, just saw this . . . I have a friend who got two callbacks for the part of Crush in Turtle Talk but didn't get the role, maybe they called him in for this because he's really a stage performer. *crosses fingers and hopes for pixie dust*
