I know everything (or at least I think I do) about WDW. Family of 4 are thinking of going out to CA to DL 1st week of Nov. I just checked the rates over the internet for the Disney hotels and almost fell off my chair!! I'm assuming there are promo rates like WDW. I used mousesavers to get a room at the AKL for $149 vs. $303 rack rate. Do these same promo codes exist for the rooms at DL?? Thanks for any info you could give me!!:bounce:

No, they don't exist at Disneyland. Remember, there are only THREE Disney hotels, compared to 20 at WDW. There are no codes released by Disneyland.

What Disneyland DOES offer are seasonal promotions with packages such as the 4th night free and 5 pass days for the price of 3.

Not to mention the numerous hotels right accross the street that are all a shorter walking distance then either the Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Peir.

Do a little homework. Go to expedia or travelocity and search for anaheim, Disneyland area.

Thanks I'll check out these other sites!! I did see some codes on mousesavers.com for Disneyland. They appeared to save you 40%, just FYI.

Thanks again
Kathy:D

The rates listed at Mousesavers are for So Cal residents or annual passholders. :)

Good luck with your planning! :)

If you are a AAA member or have a friend who is get the Southern California book from them. It has great info on hotels. You can also go to www.anaheimoc.org They have a visitors guide you can request (via web or by mail) and it has great info on Anahiem. I requested my via mail and it came w/ in a week, some have said the web request has taken them a few months.

The Disney owned hotels often give price breaks to Annual Pass Holders. Depending on how long you will be staying, sometimes the Annual Pass is only a bit more expensive than a 3 day park hopper but the hotel discounts make up for the added expense. There are 3 differetn Annual Pass options. Check out www.disneyland.com for the annual pass info. Even though one is called the Southern Cal. annual Pass you DO NOT need to be a So Cal resident to purchase it. My dad just bought one and he lives in Idaho. Check the black out days to see if these would be cheaper for your trip.

Only one person needs an Annual Pass to get the hotel discounts. In the past I have seen rates as low as 79.00 for the Paradise Pier, 115.00 for the Disneyland and 169.00 for the Grand California Most of the time these are called Super Sunday rates, rates are a bit more Fri and Sat. They usually release the rates a few months in advance. So for november, Aug or Sept.

Expedia often has low rates but these are lowest 10 days before you travel dates. Often times they are close to the Super Sunday rates.

Sonya, thanks for the great info!!!! I will check out the other websites and will definately look into expedia. These are the little tidbits that could save me alot of money!
Thanks again

I've gotten great rates at the Disney hotels through Expedia, but they don't show up until the last minute (a week or so in advance). I usually book at a cheaper hotel, then if I find a good deal through Expedia I cancel the cheap hotel and book through Expedia (making sure I'm within the cancellation deadline).

The rates listed on Mousesavers concerning the newspaper ad was only in So Cal papers, but does not say only people living in So Cal can use it.

When I called to book using that code, the CM re read the whole promotion and then checked with a supervisor, they said anyone can use it. I was able to book my April Trip using the code.

Just an FYI, the package deals for DL are a much better deal then WDW. From what I can tell you can get about the same rates. The only difference is the deposit, and cancellation policies.

Thanks
Denise

We are just back from a Jan.1-7,2003 DL trip. What was really hard to comprehend from home is how tightly packed DL,DCA,DD is to each other and to the onsite, offsite hotels, are all contained with in a 1 block area!!!

To the west side of Dl is Disneyland Dr.,with DLH,and PP,to the south is Katella Ave,with the Convention Center a few feet more south,Harbor Blvd,is offsite centeral,as this is where the entrance is,and Ball Road is to the North. GCH is in the southwestern corner of DCA,with it's own entrance to DCA.

The Harbor Blvd offsite hotels are as follows,Howard Johnson Lodge,Fairfield Inn,Park Inn,Park Inn International,Carousel Inn and Suites,Tropicana Inn,Best Western Park Place[across from DL, AT the cross walk to DL.],Park View Inn,Desert Inn and Suites,Best Inn Anaheim,Best Western Anaheim Inn,Ramada Main Gate,Anahein Plaza,Castle Inn and Suites.

Also the Candy Cane Inn is on the DL park side of Harbor just south of the entrance,it has it's own shuttles, and has a very good free breakfast, and is a DIS favorite!!

If you stay at Best Western Park Place, the cross walk is in front of your hotel, you cross the street, and walk straight on thru a 3 tram long area,in front of you is the Info Booth where you make any PS you need for the day at the parks or Downtown Disney, just behind this, is a small plaza to your right is the DL Entrance to the left is DCA,straight ahead across the plaza is Downtown Disney Entrance.

I could not think how they got the photo shots of the California letters to look so far away in the Commercials, they are so close to the DL entrance with the flower bed, Mickey just below the train station!!

The pools in the DL area even onsite are just so,so. GCH is simular to WL,PP is in more of an tropical theme[from what I saw of the building and lobby.]

DLH is the only hotel that has alittle Disney themeing. So, If budget is a consideration, book offsite!! Save some Dollars to spend at the POC Blue Bayou restaurant, with southern menu items, yum yum!! And the atmosphere is well worth eating there!!!
Also visit La Brea Bakery for a sit down Italian Lunch, this is too good to miss!!

AAA is selling a great ticket check out the AAA ticket info in the middle of this page.
