My poor DH. We are leaving next Wednesday for our land/sea Poly/Wonder vacation. With all my packing lists, itineraries and last minute brainstorms, I AM DRIVING HIM CRAZY. As I was just getting up this morning, he made me, MADE ME, promise not to put another item of his in a suitcase. He said he will pack 15 mins before we leave and do it himself. :p However, nothing was mentioned about packing my stuff! ;)

Know how you feel, my wife doewsnt like me doing it either.. i severly over pack...but shes responsible for hewr own packing.. you gals were more stuff than we boys do.....

know ones ever told me why tho...

Ohh well ENJOY THE TRIP!!!

Tell him you're easy to deal with... I've already got the suitcase out and items folded and packed in it -- and we're not leaving for 2 weeks and 1 day!

LOL!

It just helps with the preparedness - plus, where am I REALLY going to be wearing shorts to in Michigan, anyway?

We are on the 2/29 Wonder as well. I have started piling up the 3 kid's clothes (not in a suitcase yet- but, soon). I'm afraid I'll forget something if I don't start early this time. We don't leave until 2/28 (doing WDW after the cruise). Have a great time!!

My DH thinks I am crazy about starting the 'packing process' too early for our trips. I tend to set up a clothes rack and hang up the clothes that are to go in each suit case, and then lay out things in 'groups' on the couch.

WELL, last year, our baby kitty (18 years old, but still our baby) died the day before our trip. DH and I were both so upset that whole day, but we have plane tickets and this trip planned for our twin DD's 10th birthday (starting with a visit to Animal Kingdom Lodge at WDW), so we left the next day for our trip.

My DH actually THANKED me for planning so far ahead and being prepared because we both were so upset that we were not thinking clearly the whole day before we left.

So sometimes it really pays to be ready ahead of time, you never know what last minute things may throw you off.

I like to org and if I do not start packing I will forget something ...

:hyper: ::yes:: ::yes::

we dont even leave for 2 months and I've already started getting stuff together (loosely) for this trip. My husband in the past gave me a hard time about packing way too early but he learned afterwards to shut up about it! :p

We were going without the kids on a cruise about 3 years ago. I'd been packing stuff up for the week before and really agressive 2-3 days before. Hubby tells me to NOT touch his stuff he will get it all packed and ready to go the night before we were going to leave. We had a 6 am flight so we had to leave pretty early. I kept bugging him the night before that he needed to get packed and he kept saying he would. I took a sleeping pill (never sleep good before a trip just too excited) and so I didnt watch over him. The next morning we were really rushed and I assumed he packed his luggage. He had put some stuff in it but alot of it was in the other room and he forgot all about it. We left and got to the airport and hubby realized he didnt have ANY clothes with him except the stuff on his back and his suits...haha...I laughed so hard. My bank account took a major hit in Miami at Bayside but it was worth it to be able to rub salt in the wound the rest of the trip! Now he lets me at least put it all inside the suitcase (maybe not packed like he wants it but at least it's there) and we havent had to buy a whole new wardrobe since.

I am so jealous! I wish it was close enough for us to start packing. I also clean the house like crazy before we leave on vacation. It drives my kids and DH crazy. I hate coming home and the house not being in perfect order. I don't want to come home to that. It's hard enough coming home from vacation, but then to come to a messy house, no way!

OK, I will confess one more thing. I have created a 'cruise' box just for stuff that I want to pack for our trip each year. I have are card holders for our keys (one for each of us). Small backpacks that we use on the last morning to put our PJs and misc. items in to take off the ship (since our luggage is put out on the last night). Some plastic ponchos that I picked up at the Dollar Tree (haven't had to use them yet) and a tote bag that zips up very small (in case I end up with more stuff than will fit in my luggage on the way back).

I wrote "cruise" on the box and it is in our storage room ready to be packed again this year! So I actually started 'packing' last September (when we got home) for this September's cruise!

Wow! I guess I better get busy. I was just going to start pulling stuff out tomorrow. LOL

OMG...FIFTEEN MINUTES TO PACK!!!!! We don't sail until May 15 and I already have a "Cruise Shelf" goin' in the closet. Every time my DH looks at it, I give him "the look" and a "don't touch that"!!
