Hey there- looking for a prom dress for a grad prom at a very reasonable price. Anyone have any ideas of where to go anywhere from Maine through New Hampshire and towards Boston?? Thank you!

My DD bought both of her prom dresses second hand. She bought one off of Craigslist and the other off Ebay. She knew exactly what she wanted and we were lucky enough to find them this way. Both needed small alterations but came in under $150 each even with those tacked on. And these were expensive dresses when they were new. 1 retailed for $300 and the other for $450. The funny part was that the first prom she attended she was the only one in a dress like hers and then next year there were 7 girls in the identical dress in various colors lol.

You may also want to check out Rent the Runway. A lot of people have really good success with that company.

You may want to try Party Dress Express in Fall River MA. I have never been there but have good things about it. We have had luck at Special Occasions which are located inside malls. Also Cache has nice occasion dresses and lots of prom dresses. Good luck!

I brought my daughter here. I didn't find the prices that different than anywhere else, but the selection is HUGE and I mean HUGE. There were also sale racks. If the girls have seen a picture of a prom dress in a magazine this place has it.

How about the place in Woburn (I think) - I'm not sure if they only do wedding dresses or also do prom dresses, but they were featured on TLC - I can't think of the name of it, but maybe someone else will know what I am talking about.

How about having one custom made - I know people that have done that off of ebay etc. and they are cheap and they have been very happy.

Goodwill, if she'll go there. I'm too old for prom but I have to go to a lot of black-tie events for work, and I don't think I've ever attended one in a dress that wasn't from Goodwill. Most of the dresses have only been worn once and I can find lots of current styles. I get tons of compliments on dresses that I paid $12 for!!
