Well on the previous prom thread I made a comment that the guy's parents don't always get to see the couple before they head out -

Well my DS's date, her mother and her father and step mother all came to our house. She even got ready here. Kind of different but I was glad I was able to get lots of pictures.

Thanks to whoever suggested a sewing kit. Jessica needed a safety pin so I gave her one and about six more, plus a little sewing kit for her purse. She was very appreciative and I made some points too;)

You should have seen DS's eyes when he saw her. She is wearing a beautiful black strapless satin gown. Very simple, yet very elegant and it went so nice with the style of tux they chose for him.

Hope they have a great time. I got tears in my eyes as they drove off.

That's so nice! Sounds like you have a great relationship with DS:D LOL at the sewing kit...I'll have to remember that next year!

Ahh...good ol prom night, those were the memories. Nothing like getting both of the dates parents together, great times :)

Great times is right especially since her dad has made it clear he didn't like my DS only because he is older - he had never met him until tonight. My poor DS was so nervous I had to get him a napkin to wipe the sweat off his lip. I was proud though he handled himself very well.

That sounds so wonderful that you all could share that moment together. Souns like a wonderful way to do it. I know we made a point to stop by my date's house after I was ready. I sure hope they have a great time :)

How wonderful that she was able to get ready there and that gave all the parents a chance to get to know one another. I hope you have a scanner so you can scan in a picture :)

My in-laws chaprone the prom every year in Lewisville. She retired from LISD but I guess that is something she still does. They are going tonight too. :( I think she enjoys it mostly because she loves a chance to dress up. She has closets full of clothes

Awww, I hope they have a great time!!!

My ex boyfriend and I were together for two years, and for his jr and senior prom my parents went over to his house to take pictures. For senior prom they also went to his friends house where the whole group of us gathered. For my junior prom his entire family (even the dog!) came to my house to take pictures.

I think it's nice, I never realized that people don't do this, lol. I am taking him to my senior prom this year, and his entire family is looking foward to another gathering.

That is so nice so that both families get to enjoy seeing the happy couple before they leave.
I'd love to see pictures too!! :)

I'll post the pictures when I get them - if I can figure out how. Her dad said he'd email some to me because he has a digital but I think I may have given him the wrong email.

It was a great idea for all the parents to get together so that both families got pictures. I know I would be very disappointed if Ashli went to prom and I didn't get a million pictures to scrapbook.:D
