Prom Dress Question

I would if, and only if, I knew the Mother of the girl borrowing the dress. Even then I would only do it if I KNEW that she would make it right if anything happened to the dress. My Mom paid $500 for my prom dress....and that was in 1990. I still don't know what that woman was thinking....but I loved her for it. She let my best friend borrow the dress for another school's prom but my Mom and her Mom had known each other for years and it was very clear that the dress would be fixed or replaced if anything happened to it. My niece even wore that dress last year.

I would say no do not loan it out whether or not you plan to use it again. I loaned my prom dress out to a very careful, good friend and it came back ripped.

Around here kids borrow all the time. Again, it starts as freshman, and noone wants to fork out money all four years for dresses they will probably not wear again.

That being said, I dont know if I would lend it out either being that expensive.

A $450 Prom Dress? There is no way on God's Green Earth I would let that out of my house on anyone other than a family member. We bought our Prom dresses at the consignment store for around $100 and I would still not lend those out.
