EDITED:- Please note that I have swapped the date of this to Saturday 18th with the Animal Kingdom Safari Dinner on Sunday 19th - as I don't think we'll get the minimum numbers required for the AK event, we now have the option of doing the Grand Gathering Safari Dinner instead.
As promised, here are the early outline proposed details of our Illuminations Dessert Party Event.
If that first sentence makes absolutely no sense to you whatsoever, then check out this thread and it'll all become clear
How often do you get the chance to view Illuminations in an unobstructed spot by simply walking to the rail when you feel like it? And how often to you get the chance to watch whilst enjoying a selection of desserts, savory munchies and hot beverages? My guess is at best your answer will be, 'not very often'.
I have had the good fortune to experience an Illuminations Dessert party 3 times previously and it stands to reason that as I am willing to organize this one that there's no hesitation on my part to go a 4th time!
This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a private, roped off area within the World Showcase (there are a number available which will directly depend on our final party size) all with prime views of the lagoon and Illuminations. If anyone has ever done an Illuminations Cruise, let me tell you I think this is better than that, and certainly one of the more affordable "VIP treatment" events that Disney offer and worth every cent.
This event is a lot easier to price than some of the others as Disney offer a number of mix n match menus for their food options and with a minimum of only 20 people required can be considered a dead-cert as happening.
At the moment, based on the menu's I've seen the price per person will be in the region of $31-32 each, this is for a specially customised party which not only will include some top-notch yummy desserts (I promise there will be no rice crispy squares at this event) but also something a little savory too. It might only be something as simple as tortillas and salsa, but there definitely be something on offer for the folks who don't have such a sweet tooth.
For people who don't have park tickets there is also an Illuminations Fee 'add-on' available in the region of $15 (inc tax). With this arrangements will be made to collect you from the turnstiles and you'll be escorted straight to the Dessert Area.
