Project Runway Season 9 Starts July 28th!

Anthony ryan was a jerk & little miss "I will follow" was too. Berts outfit was the best of the 3. His fit was the best & yes it wasn't that great but it sure was better than theirs. those 2 decided to throw him under the bus from jump because Anthony wants to get rid of him. I am so over Oliver too he is so boring.

They may want to rethink throwing Bert under the bus because of his age. It seems Michael and Nina are catching on to the whole we hate Bert bit. Michael is 52, Nina is 46 and Tim is in his mid 50's so they may not take kindly to the age discrimination the younger ones are showing towards Bert.

As my DH said "they're children and he's a recovering alcoholic" which pretty much sums up the dynamic between Burt and Anthony Ryan, I think.

Joshua, OTOH, was just a total blankety-blank of a blankety jerk, but at least he knew how to apologize.

I did agree with their judging; loved everything from Victor's group except for that skirt. . .if a skirt makes a model look fat and dowdy what will it do to us normal humans?

I agree. I almost think he got caught up in the drama from eariler shows & the other team. Sometime I think these people think they are being funny when they do this or being "Christian" he was all snippy with people when he was on the show & then he won. Now I don't think he was as mean as these folks are.

I can't believe all the Bert support. The guy lies and isn't a team player. Gee why would that cause tension. At least in editing on several joint challenges he has plainly refused to work with his team and then when he gets on the runway, tells the judges how he never said no, or he wouldn't do it and the other are wrong. It ticks me off that the judges always believe Bert. Not only that he often gets a pass when he blatantly won't do what the challenge states because it has to be something he wants to do. Still, the other outfit was horrible beyond belief and Anthony should have been gone.

Joshua was a complete drama queen and downright MEAN and the judges compliment his managing skills?

:sad2:

I think this season is pi ss ing me off as much as last season;)
I couldn't believe it! That's not leadership, at least not in my book!

Agreed.

I think the producers need to wake up & realize a large percentage of their audience tunes in to see what creativity & skills the designers bring to the challenges. In other words, it's about watching a reality show that requires TALENT, not awful behavior & histrionics.
Out of the 1 1/2 hours, how long did they actually spend showing the clothes? I didn't even remember what Joshua's outfit looked like by the time they got to the results!

Joshua, OTOH, was just a total blankety-blank of a blankety jerk, but at least he knew how to apologize.
Sorry - to me that was no apology. And then at judging he still calls her stuff "dowdy"? Please.

I agree. The past few shows, I have been fast-forwarding through all the middle and just watch the beginning and the end. I hate all the drama.

Like I said, I fast-forwarded through all the show, so was Bert really that bad? It seemed from the final product that the judges were right, they were so busy worrying about Bert, who did make the best outfit of that group than just doing their own work. Notice I said of that group, not of the night. I really didn't like any of the outfits.

Bert turned off the second they did not give him any input into the fabric choices... can't say I blame him... after that he did not want to hear any of their suggestions ... and seeing their final designs, I think he made the right choice...

I have no favorite designer yet.. nothing has been that memorable IMO....

I don't think it was just Bert who was dismissed due to ageism. I think Josh M's problem with Becky is that she isn't a skinny young thing. He sees an older woman who's heavy set and he immediately SEES HER as dowdy. Since SHE is dowdy, her ideas and her designs are worthless and actually deserving of public scorn and derision. The whole incident reminded me of the hideosness that was Jeffrey during the Mom challenge.

And why oh why did Josh get the credit for a dress that:
1. Anya designed
2. Becky sewed
3. has been seen in every discount store from Target to Forever 21 for 2-3 years.

Then let's talk about how stupid and unfair it was to have the team captains chosen by who can RUN the fastest! That was utterly ridiculous. Tim Gunn should be ashamed for being part of that debacle.

Ugh. I was so turned off after Gretchen won last year that I was unsure about watching this year and so far nothing about this season is proving redeeming. I think I'll watch until my gay boyfriend, Adam Lambert, is guest judge and then stop watching.

Hey Joshua go to Amazon.com & see that Heidi has leggings in her collection! Maybe your yestersday & Anya's dress looks nothing like it did on the show. viktors looks good.

IMO, the younger designers are biased against Bert because of his age. Now, I don't know whether his reactions are caused by their attacks against him or if that's part of his usual personality. :confused3 He was immature and petty in his response when the judges were criticizing the other two designers in his group.

Last night's show was focused on the drama and not the actual designs. :rolleyes1

Thats because most of the designs were awful.

I'd definitely wear Viktor's dress and jacket, IF I was younger and hipper

Is it just me, or have the judges been snarkier to each other this season, too? I don't remember them arguing nearly as much in past seasons as they have in this one.

.

Amen...that was ridiculous.

I agree completely. Last night, my Dad and I were both complaining that the show is turning into any other "reality" show. Orchestrated personality conflicts and too much focus on fighting, rather than the actual design process. We tune in to see the clothes and the process, not the stupid bickering.

I'm addicted to Project Runway, so I'd love to join in on the discussion. :)

First, I thought that the girls had an unfair advantage in being chosen as team leaders. I think they should've chosen the top 2 guys and the top 2 girls to be team leaders.

Second, I'm surprised to see all the Bert support. To me he seems to just simply refuse to be a team player--as soon as anyone suggests he make a change of any sort, he gets all huffy and refuses to cooperate. I think it's pretty telling that he was the last person picked--absolutely none of the other designers want to work with him because he refuses to be part of a team. Then I feel that he's very dishonest on the runway, and for some reason it seems the judges believe him over the others. At the very beginning I really liked him, but his attitude just plain stinks now. I think he is actually the "agist" one, as he seems to constantly be pointing out how he is just so much more mature or has better taste, etc. since he's older.

I thought Anthony Ryan's outfit was the worst on the runway, but I'm glad they didn't send him home. At least he does different things rather than green chiffon things over and over again.

I loved Viktor's outfit and thought he totally deserved to win. I'm confused with why Joshua won when it was Anya's outfit that they liked. It seems like she should've won instead of him.

Now don't get me wrong, I liked Viktor's dress and jacket and I thought they were really well made, but.

You could've gotten that jacket from Forever 21 last fall and I want to say I nearly bought a dress similar to that at Aeropostale this past spring, I think. (Or maybe it was Forever 21. Or Old Navy. I just remember it just had a little too much fabric under the gather for me.)

Huh. I just went through the entire collection. Josh C. and Bryce had original pieces; the others did things you can find at the mall or pray you don't find at the mall. . .

Project Runway, where are the Christians and the Laura Bennets?

I'm mad at Project Runway. My friend's son (Gunnar Deatherage) didn't make it past the first show and he's a really good designer.

Bert did draw three designs to which the other two shot down. He changed the first after they said no and he did another, they said no, and did still a third that they said no to. And then they wouldn't let him pick out any of the fabric. I wouldn't say he refused to cooperate. I think he just finally gave up and said "the heck with them, they aren't going to like anything I do." So, I wouldn't say as soon as anyone suggests he makes a change, he refuses to cooperate. And it wasn't like they said something like, "We like that part, how about different sleeves." It was simply, "Uh, no!"

I watched yesterday finally, lol. I do a TON of fast forwarding through the drama, it makes for a better show for me.;) I think all of them except ms. dowdy are drama lamas. Unfortunately, you have to have a stronger backbone to make it through this competition.

Eh, stuff was OK at best. I was not really wowed by anything.
