Project Runway, Season 5 Official Discussion Thread.

We all thought it would be Suede, then when it was down to Joe and Stella, we thought Joe would go. Bye Stella! Sorry to see her go, I thought her stuff was interesting and last night at least her outfit resembled a style. As Micheal said, Joe's looked like someone got dressed in the dark. Not often that I question their choice; this one I question. I don't think Stella is a winner but she certainly has more style than Joe.

Exactly! Both Stella & Joe would eventually be cut sooner or later. But when they keep Joe over Stella when he made glaringly obvious bad construction, you gotta wonder, "What were they thinking?" :confused3 Did they make their final choice in the dark? :confused3

Do you think that Joe stayed because he won the drag queen episode and Stella hasn't won anything? IMO, Stella was better TV and Joe's previous win shouldn't have helped him, but I'm just wondering and trying to second guess the producers of the show.

Leann was lucky that Tim made the suggestion he did (about shortening the jacket) and smart to take his advice.

My DD9 said the minute she took Tim's advice that she would win because Tim always knows what he's talking about. :rotfl2: (I think she's heard me say that quite a few times when contestants don't listen.) I did really like Leeanne's dress. I also liked Korto's. I don't think this show was right for what Stella does. But it gave her good publicity for people who would buy that.

I like joes from the front... but the back was a tragdy poor thing

My DVR cut off right after they announced the winner, so I had to come her to see who they booted.

I liked Stella :-(

But as someone said, it's not like she would make it to the final two, still would have liked her to hang around a bit longer.

I know that the judges should make their decision from the outfit made each week but I really do not think that always happens. I believe they were over Stella and made allowances for Joe because they liked the outfits he had already made.

I did go back and watch this week and again hated Joe's, it was odd from the back and I did not get the color scheme. I thought that Stella's was okay, not great but if not for the cape, it was okay.

I am surprised that the judges have not picked up on Terry and the one pant fits all, they generally do not tolerate a one trick pony.

I like Kenley's style, I just don't like her

I give up on Blayne.

Suede's was just ugly and hippy women like me would not be caught deaf in that thing. Between the fabric bunched at the hips and that slit thing climbing up the back it was a nightmare.

I ended up wishing I had a formal to go to, I lived Leanne's dress.

My favorite to win is Korto. She has such a elegant sense of style and seems to know just what women will wear.

I was sad to see Stella go, I get confused when the producers pick designers with such a pronounced point of view and then penalize them for remaining true to that POV. If they step out of their comfort zone they are penalized for that as well. Stella left so gracefully, I hope that she benefits from this.

What SHE said.... :thumbsup2

Tim does have a great eye but, when he was on Regis & Kelly he said he rarely agrees with the judges on who wins or goes home each week. I thought that when Joe was being catty he would be gone just like Michael on Design Star this past season. Stella was growing on me she just couldn't find a way to add herself to different styles. I think she was one of the most honest people on the show.

I thought Joe's looked worse than Stella's. I think she was booted because she has been in the bottom so many times. Joe's outfits have been good for the most part until this last one. He seemed really cocky this episode, but it might have been the way they edited. :rolleyes1

I can't take Kenley's nasal voice anymore. Maybe if she said something other than how great she is I'd feel differently. I think she's a one trick pony too.

I know! I SOOOOOO hoping she's get the "ax" last night.

But man, Keith really gave terry a hard time. What was weird is her outfit looked COMPLETEY different without the fur collar & that is how the winning outfits were judged. I presume that the final judging was to pick the losers?

Keith is a jerk but I have had Terry picked to go home several times. I won't miss her.

Blayne's outfit was just hideous. Really! I don't think it was avant guarde, I don't think it was costumey. I just think it was bad.

I don't think Terry's dress was so bad but I wasn't sad to see her go.

I didn't like Kenley's and don't really like her - just something about her rubs me wrong.

I think Suede played it safe and maybe should've been sent packing but he is starting to grown on me. Is this the first time he spoke in the third person in front of the judges - they seemed shocked and he's been doing it all season.

Tim is right on the money. He said Jerrel would win or crash and burn and win he did.

Ohhh-read Tim's blog on the Project Runway site! Apparently Suede had these cloth "scales" on a collar he was going to attach & Tim was horrified, so they eliminated them & they blamed Tim for their poor showing!

I was glad to see Terri go home. I have not cared for her outfits but I really do not like her attitude. I think that a Keith/Terri partnership was horrible but it would not have mattered who she was with, she cannot take any suggestions and will not allow anyone else's voice to be heard. I wonder if she had given Keith a chance to participate how he would have responded. If I was told to stand around and out of the way I would have taken a nap as well.

Kenley- ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My gosh, is she impressed with herself?

I laughed when Michael said Blayne's model was pooping fabric ;), that is exactly what the poor thing was looking like in that hideous outfit.

I am glad Blayne is finally gone - he is young and will improve over time. And his retro-80's stuff was kind of getting old.

Terri seemed like a conceited, first class witch the past couple of weeks. She was really convinced she was better than everyone else. Her dress did look amazingly cheap. And the idea for the fur collar *did* tread into costume territory IMHO. Glad to see her go. Keith might has been a butt to her, but she completely alienated and marginalized him so I feel no sympathy at all for her. She made her bed, she had to sleep in it.

I thought the top 4 designs were excellent. I loved all of them. I was having a hard time picking my favorite. I think I liked Joe's the best, but it was really close in my mind.

Kenley wanted to make some weird thing with giant poofy sleeves and a floral skirt. Her design had nothing to do with Aquarius. It had everything to do with Gibson Girl cartoon on crack. When I think of the sign Aquarius, I think of flowy, gauzy fabric. Even if she didn't want to do something specifically evocative of water, her design should have had some element of flow or waves.

Suede's outfit was very boring. Not really deserving of the boot, since there was other hot-buttered-butt designs this week, but definitely NOT a contender.

Kenley's nasal voice constantly talking about how great she is getting on my last nerve. Shut up and sew.

I was always mystified that Blayne even made it onto the show and my bet is they were hoping he was going to be this year's Christian, complete with catchphrases.

Terri -- Geez, did that woman ever smile? She just exuded negativity.

Korto and Suede -- okay, did not wow me.

Joe -- I loved his gown. Great workmanship and quite a step up in the game from last week.

I so did the happy dance when Terri left. Keith tried at first but then gave up & I don't blame him. She would have treated anyone that way. Kenely should have gotten the boot along with Blaine-if they are truley judging on the one weeks project. And even though I don't like Terri I would have been ok with that.

Terri was such a witch with a capital B last night!!! Even though Keith seemed like he was trying to take over a bit, she didn't have to be so nasty to him. Then she complained on the runway that he didn't help her! What the heck does she expect!!! I'm glad Blayne is gone-a-licious!!! Now he can go tanning and be happy! I do like Kenley but I thought she was very rude on the runway! She gets VERY defensive! Michael Kors was having none of it though!!
