Prohibited Items - Power Strips, Extension Cords

All I can say as that we were just on the Magic for the Norwegian Cruise in May and we had a power strip in plain site plugged in to the outlet in the center of the room close to the mirror and light switches. Never a word was said about it by housekeeping or anyone else.

Hey
I just bought a usb multi plug for this purpose as they don't want extension strips,.

No way are they taking that of us as where do you draw the line., everything with a plug,,

We have 2 phones, 2 iPads, camera charger, spare camera battery charger,, emergency phone charger,, fit bit usb watch,, the list goes on,, need these to charge daily & I ain't taking 6 separate usb plugs

So defo won't be packing these in luggage ,, is your carry on searched ? Other than for booze

But if your state room host sees it, they are suppose to take it. There is reports the multi-usb plugs have been taken and given back after end of cruise

I wondering if I am understanding some of the technical information provided by some of the PP.

I have a Belkin BOOST↑UP™ 2-Port Swivel Charger + Outlet (http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F8M102/). Now, the device DOES have a $2500 connected equipment warranty, HOWEVER, on the UL sticker on the back of the device itself, it says it is a "current tap". Nowhere on the Belkin website, tthe package or the device could I find any reference to it being a surge protector or having "X" Joules protection, etc.

It is my understanding that as a current tap this would be safe to use on board a Disney cruise ship.

In contrast, I also own a Belkin SurgePlus USB Swivel Charger (http://www.belkin.com/us/BST300-Belkin/p/P-BST300/). Its UL label says it is a "surge protective device", and the materials for it clearly state "Portable Surge Protector rated at 918 Joules with three grounded outlets" and it has a $75,000 connected items warranty.

It is my understanding that this device is NOT allowed on board a Disney cruise ship.

Is my understanding correct ?
