Progress with the All Star Music room renovations?

Does anyone know how the room renovations at All Star Music are coming? What buildings are currently completed? Also, does anyone know if Disney plans to renovate the rooms over at Sports and Movies as well?

This is what mouseplanet says:

All-Star Music Resort – Conversion of Calypso buildings to Family Suites continues. All work had been expected to be completed by October 13, but that date has not been met. All buildings not containing Family Suites will be renovated between January and June, 2007.

All-Star Sports Resort – All buildings will be renovated between June and November, 2007.

There are no plans as of yet to renovate All Star Movies.

I am hoping that when the rooms at All Star Sports are renovated Family Suites will also be there.

Family Suites were in the plans for All Star sports when they started building them at Music.
The plan was Music first, sports second and then maybe Movies if the Suites became popular.

We were there September 30-Oct 7 and it looked like Calypso was done but they were working on the Jazz building. We stayed at that resort MANY years ago, but this time I promised my family we would never stay there again. The rooms are so old looking and dirty. The bathrooms are just gross. The wallpaper is coming down and the toilets haven't had a good scrub for at least a couple of years. Just plain gross. Thank god we had the dining plan because the cafeteria had the same stuff from 7 years ago. It is time to update the rooms and the cafeteria.

The newly refurbished are beautiful.
I am sorry you did not get one.

If you book Calypso you will most likely get a reburbished room.
I think Calypso #! and #10 are finished and the Jazz buildings will be done before too long.

They even have a privacy curtain by the vanity.

Another DIS member posted some photos of a newly refurbished room she stayed at in the Jazz building.

She had new furniture, new carpeting, new wallpaper, and a tan and baby blue bedspread.

So it sounds like Calypso is done (including both family suites and regular rooms) and Jazz is underway currently. I'm glad to hear that they plan to do the same renovations over at Sports next year. Compared to Pop Century, I feel the rooms at the All Stars are lacking, but this new renovation makes them just as nice as Pop (maybe even nicer--I would have to see them in person to know). Hopefully they will then decide to go ahead and do Movies too.

I hope they refurbish movies also.

FYI

Pop was built in 2003.
All Star Movies was built in 1999.
All Star Sports and Music were built in 1994.


Movies is about 5 years newer than Sports and Music.
That why Music and Sports are the values which are being refubished first.

Yes, I knew that Movies is much newer than Music and Sports. However, I also think that Movies tends to be very popular and thus might be getting wear and tear a little bit more quickly. I know that some of my wedding guests that stayed at Movies had some rooms with wear and tear and were a bit disappointed (and this was back in 2003). If they wait until they complete Music and Sports and then begin Movies, it wouldn't be that much less time in between refurbs. Plus, hopefully Disney will want the rooms to look similar at each All Star Resort and will thus choose to go ahead and refurb Movies. We can keep our fingers crossed anyway!

I hate to bump my really old thread, LOL, but I'm curious if all the rooms at All Star Music have been completed. We're considering a quickie trip in August and were wondering if all the rooms are renovated now. Also, has Sports been started yet?

We just got back and stayed in the Broadway building. We had a renovated room. It looked a lot like the above pictures.

The renovated rooms looks nice. We are currently booked at POFQ but I am still debating the money question. If we do downgrade I was considering ASMu. It sounds like all the rooms would have been finished before we go.

Yes. All the rooms are being renovated.
The Calypso, Jazz,and Broadway are finished.
The last I heard the Rock Inn buildings were being refubished.
Once they finish Rock Inn all that is left is the Country buildings.
The refubishment is slated to be done by the end of June.

I didn't see a privact curtain in the pics. Does anybody know if all the rooms will have them or not? Would be sooo much better if they did!!
