Progress of your XL claim??

according to Travel Weekly the CAA are starting payouts next week, could take several weeks before they've worked through all of them though.

We got our confirmation letter through yesterday, have you heard about any of your claims yet?
I'm not surprised that the payments could take a while, at least I know now they have my claim and it's being dealt with.
Hopefully we may get the money back before Christmas, even with a low rate credit card deal, I'm feeling the pinch making the payments on our rebooked holiday.
Shouldn't complain thought - it was our decision to rebook before we got the money back :confused3

I'm not expecting to hear about my claims til the money comes through, HQ will let me know anyway :lmao:

Still waiting for a nice little cheque through the door, however, off to the airport on Sunday for the beginning of or Re - booked holiday to Disney. I can even see my villa on google earth!:goodvibes
 
Glad you got your claim reference acknowledged. I am not expecting money until after christmas - they told me 2 to 3 months from receiving your acknowledgement.

I know how you feel. We are now back from our re-booked holiday, which was amazing, but we need the money back from CAA as soon as possible. Feeling the pinch now Christmas is nearly here. Still, it was worth it to get to the magical place this year.
 

Just got my money back today from CAA. Check your bank account. It went straight into our account today - what a relief!! Very impressed with the speed and efficiency of the process.

How long from receiving your confirmation letter to payment, if you don't mind me asking?
I'm checking most days but no sign of money, and those credit card bills are pinching this time of year!
It was great having the rebooked holiday but not so nice having the bill to come back to. :sad2:

We received our confirmation letter with our claim reference number on it on 14th October - the letter was dated 8th October.

We received the money in our bank account yesterday which was 24th November so approx 5 weeks. We haven't had a letter or anything in writing from them about the money we received, it just appeared in our bank account. I am assuming the letter will follow shortly as they will need to return the original bank statements etc that we sent with our claim form.

I am sure yours will not be long. Good luck.

Thanks for that, if we get ours within the same time frame that would be great, I had been thinking it would be longer, so earlier is only a bonus.

Yes, we were in Pop Century. It was great, as usual. My sister has booked next year and is staying in POFQ. She hasn't stayed there before and is looking forward to it. Did you do Disney Dining? We didn't but everyone else in the resort seemed to be doing it - it looked like a great deal.

We also found this year to be a bit more expensive in general - we spent a lot more dollars than we normally do. What did you think?

Money has arrived, no notification, just a nice surprise when I checked my account, phew thats a relief, especially at this time of year.

Any one else had some good news!!?
 
Good news for you! Just checked my account - no sign of the money yet :sad1: . I think I'll phone them tomorrow to see what the state of play is.
Hopefully my claim is coming along.

I emailed ATOL this week as still no sign of refund. I just got a standard reply saying that refund should be within 12 weeks of receiving the confirmation letter, so hopefully beginning of January for us.
Has anyone else gotten a letter from XLs administartors?

We finally got a letter yesterday to tell us that we have to go through our Credit Card company for the refund, that info has now been passed to them, so no doubt we'll have another long wait :(

Did ATOL say you had to claim through your credit card? I thought they would deal with all of the claims.
I did hear that credit card refunds come through fairly quickly, so hopefully not too long of a wait for you.

We always knew we would have to claim through the CC company, but we had to wait for the official letter to come back from ATOL. Hopefully we'll get the money back in our account soon :thumbsup2
 
Same here, bulk of our claim was with the banks but 1/3rd was on credit card,
Got a letter today from card company - its being assessed.....
 
Had an email from ATOL today - numerically my claim should be looked at in the next 3 weeks. So slightly longer than 12 weeks, but not surprising over Christmas and New Year.

Got a letter from ATOL just before New Year saying they needed a signature from the original booking party. When we first booked we were going with friends who later had to cancel, so as some initial payments were made by them they needed them to sign as well.
Have sent all the paperwork back to them, all signed, so hopefully not long now for us - at least I know they're looking at ours now!
It's just been a bad time of year, everything gets delayed because of the holidays!
If I've not heard by next week I'll email them again just to check they don't need anything else.
Any good news from anyone else?
 
Regarding the above post - Royal Mail appear to have lost the newly signed documentation I sent back to ATOL, so much for recorded delivery!

'Unable to access delivery status'!

Waiting on hearing back from ATOL to double check they haven't received it so I can get a new copy signed and sent back. It's so frustrating just having emails to contact and not phone!!
