Products you can't find anymore

I think it's sad my kids can't experience the fun of getting a toy in a cereal box! I know it was junk stuff, but the feeling when it dropped into your cereal bowl was the best!

We used to dig to the bottom to get it out.

Jay's Potato Chips - two bags to a box. At back to school time, they'd have a Jay's pencil in the box as a prize. I loved getting that pencil.

Jay's shoestring potatoes....can't find them where I live.

Indian Head pumpkin seeds. You can get a case of them online, but I don't want that many. Used to find them in the candy bar aisle. Can't find them anywhere where I live now.

Does anybody remember Spoon Candy from the early 1970's? They didn't make it for very long but it was so good! They had different flavors and then a hard chocolate shell topping after you put it in the fridge or freezer. I loved the peanut butter & chocolate one.

I also remember a kind of pop called Hula.

Also Orangina..I know it's still around, but used to be much easier to find! I don't think anywhere around us carries it anymore :(

:lmao: The movie Transporter(Jason Statham:lovestruc) is on as I read this thread. He just got a couple of drinks out a vending machine with a can labeled "Orangina"...don't know if it is the same thing, but it was kind of funny.

I'm making a special trip Sunday to look for Benadryl (kids need 2 bottles each for school-food allergies).

About 8-9 years ago Lipton had some really good side dishes one was mashed potatoes pouches. Tasted just like pierogies. I miss them.

check BJ's for the benedryl. I got a 3 packs of the chewables for $21

I miss these ...

Also, Nabisco Cheese Tidbits ...

Oh my gosh, I didn't realize they're gone!

I miss the the super-awesome cups, mugs, and toys you used to get with a Happy Meal. My favorite was from around 1985 - the Happy Meal was packaged in a plastic bucket with a sand sifter lid and shovel. And I loved the glass Garfield mugs and Snoopy glasses.

My mom loves Orangina! She drank it in Paris when she studied there in college and then I found it here at our local grocery store. We tend to carry some things that are a bit harder to find. She was super excited! :goodvibes It tastes really good!

DDT and other pesticides that actually work.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

You end up with funny looking kids but NO BUGS :lmao:

Franco American or Chef-Boyardee or similar used to make a canned elbow macaroni and cheese, my bought it by the case because we all loved it--quick, easy lunch or snack. It hasn't been around for YEARS. I wonder if I would still like it.

I also want the little Mexican lady that used to live across the hall from my aunt to make me one (or a LOT) of her homemade tacos. Boy those were good!!!! I have yet to find anything even remotely close to how good these were.

This thread just gave me a great idea for a party game for our kids-send them on a scavenger hunt to see how many of these things they can find in stores, take a picture of the ones they find :lmao::lmao:--or buy them :thumbsup2

Walmart carries the Chef-Boyardee Mac and Cheese. The Franco American was better but haven't seen it in years.

I know about the pesticides. My dad bought some ant poison in the 1950's, big brown Ortho bottle. My mom finally used the last of it about 5 years ago, went to the hardware store to buy more. Guy said it was banned in 1970, he said he was a little nervous about even having that empty bottle in the store, but it was the best ant poison ever made.

It's not the same...:sad1:

Hmmm, I used to love Dunk-A-Roos! I haven't seen them in ages.

I found some at the Kissimee Wal-mart when we went to Disney in June! yum!!

I also agree with whoever said Planters cheeseballs! Those were so good!

Also my favorite were starburst hard candy's i haven't seen them in years.

OMG - I used to love Quisp. I will have to see if I can find it.

Love's Baby Soft has been available in the past few years. I have found it at Target and some other place that I can't remember.

I would kill for "Rock a dile red" kool-aid. I am almost through my stash. I have heard it is still available in Canada, but I'd need to get a passport first.

I also miss Canoe after shave. I have seen that you can order it online, but I want to just walk into Walgreens and buy some for dh.

Betty Crocker used to make a twice baked cheesy bacon potato dish that I loved and is no longer available. Grrr. I used to serve it with meatloaf and my favorite meatloaf mix is not available around here anymore either....double grrrr.

Anyone remember "Pacer" candy? It was kind of like starburst, but minty.

I can't find the Benefit "Kitten Goes to Paris" Body Powder anywhere anymore. It was one of my favorites and my cat knocked it of the sink into some water and ruined it. I have searched high and low for a replacement.

Jell-O Pudding Pops. I wish I could share one with my kids so that they know how good we had it as far as ice cream treats. I'm craving one now, darnit!:headache:

I would love to get my hands on a Chocolate macaroon bundt cake mix. I think Betty Crocker made it. The box included the main cake mix, the coconut mix and the glaze mix. It was my DHs favorite !!

Swiss Miss prepared butterscotch pudding--haven't seen it for a couple years in stores around here. Also, ANY brand of non-instant butterscotch pudding (powder stuff). I use it to make monkey bread and haven't been able to find it for a couple years. Vanilla works ok but it doesn't taste the same.
