Hi all,

I've been functioning as the official backstage photographer for my son's school play.

Anyway, the person who is going to burn the photos onto DVD's said she would like the pictures to be in the range of 2-3 MP.

Well, what I have done is create an album of all the photos, and what I would like to do is create another album of photos to burn, but have those photos the appropriate size.

Is there some easy way to do this to over 100 photos in rapid automated succession?

I'm using Apple's iphoto application.

Thanks,

Boris

There is probably a way to do it all within iPhoto, but I'm not sure how.

The way I would do it is to select the images I want to burn to disc, then go to the menu bar at the top of the screen, select "File" then "Export". Click the "File Export" tab in the dialog that comes up, then adjust the settings to scale the image to the desired max resolution. Then you can burn the exported files directly to disc, or if you prefer you could import them back into iphoto as a newly resized set.

One thing to look out for is that the max width/height you choose is applied to all the photos you are exporting, regardless of if they are in portrait or landscape orientation. You may want to do two separate exports, one for landscape orientation and one for portrait depending on how picky you are.

Are all the pictures yours? If they are you can create a slideshow in Iphoto apply music and transitions and burn to dvd. That would be the easiest.

Thanks folks.

I think I will do the export thing to a new folder on the desktop and burn that to a disc.

As for the slideshow, I believe another parent is putting the whole thing together.

With regard to the resizing, I just checked, and you have the option of specifying the max dimension or the longest side, or max height/width.

Thanks,

Boris

I think Irfanview is the easiest program around to do batch changes like resolution, JPG quality level, re-naming, etc. It is also free.
