Procedure for bringing on alcohol at an non-embarkation port

Under DCL's new policy, you are allowed to carry-on alcohol (6 pack or 2 750ml bottles of wine) at every port and I was wondering what the procedure was at non-embarkation ports. Has anyone tried to carry-on their alcohol at a non-embarkation port, if yes, what is their procedure? Do they take it from you and deliver it to the stateroom? Do they just look at it to make sure it is beer/wine within the limit and let you go? Do they make any notes if you brought back alcohol (like on your KTTW card)? Did it take you much longer to board than if you didn't have any approved alcohol with you?

Any advice would be appreciated as we are trying to decided if it is worth the hassle of finding a store in each port or don't bother.

Just like boarding on embarkation day. You will go through a scanner before boarding. Your alcohol will be seen then. If it's within the guidelines of what's allowed, you carry it onboard yourself. If not, it will be confiscated to be returned to you upon debarkation from your cruise.
