Problems with your Select Comfort bed???

Have received an e-mail from Mary Macduffie at SC (Customer Service Supervisor) - so hopefully we will have a resolution to this problem shortly.

If anyone wants more information, please PM me.

Thanks for all your assistance in getting this problem recognized by a SC Supervisor!!

I have decided to report this situation to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. If anyone else has tried to work with Select Comfort and is dissatisfied with their reply, the USCPSC web link is:

Thank you all for reading and replying -

Just curious - are you using the Select Comfort foundation or a different one? If it's not the SC foundation then it will definitely slip. We're on our second Select Comfort (in 12 years) and have been totally satisfied. Sorry you've had problems.

We've had our Sleep Number bed since late August, and love it. It is also not on the Select Comfort foundation. We replaced a high quality queen bed, and reused the box springs from that. We put a piece of plywood between the box springs and the new mattress, and have had no slipping at all. We also have a head and foot board, but it's not up against the wall.

We love our bed. I'm sorry you're having such trouble with you mom's. I'd hate to see her get hurt. Good luck getting it resolved.

We've had our Select Comfort Mattress (Queen Size) for about 9 years now. We are using the foundation from a soft side waterbed mattress. Have never had an issue with the mattress sliding.

Just to clarify - both of our beds have included the SC foundation. Not only does it eliminate a slippage problem but I think it provides more comfort as well. We love our Select Comfort!

Yes, we have the entire Select Comfort bed package - mattress and foundation for both the king size and twin size.

I am glad that you have not experienced these problems. We are, and we are just very surprised that the company is not that concerned about changing the design of the product because if it happens to one person one time, then that's one safety issue too many.

My Mom wondered why Select Comfort just didn't offer to come see our problem or at least offer to exchange the cover for both mattress and foundation with a new one to see if that would help.
It is just too odd that they changed the design in January 2003 due to this problem (according to the store rep) and yet our beds have this problem and our purchases were after that date. Could we have the old style and that's the problem?

Why do some slide and some don't??

Again, why does Select Comfort tell us to remedy it ourselves with Rubbermaid products and not be concerned that their design is flawed at least in our case.......it doesn't make any sence.
