I am planning our first visit ever to Disney World. The last time I was ever on a Disney property, I was 5 years old. I am 31 and way more excited than my daughter. I saw that Mousesavers recommended Small World Vacations. I tried to use them but our agent was borderline horrible. I did change the need of my vacation two times. A lot of family members decided they could not commit the finances towards a large family trip. I was very clear in writing what my husband and I wanted regardless. What room we wanted, what dates and the same for my MIL and FIL. We are paying for my husbands parents trip. The agent didn't pay attention and messed them up twice. When it was finally time to pay my deposit, she didn't tell me who to pay it to or give me any information. So I called Disney and they told me it had to be through her. First off, getting this lady on the phone was impossible. I would leave a message to call me, she would e-mail me instead a few days later. E-mails typically took 2-3 days to get a response. It is a big deal spending thousands of dollars on just hotel rooms. Am I being two picky to expect prompt service from a travel agent? In the end, her lack of detail and slow response time caused me to give up all together. I ended up just booking through a Disney representative for the same price and just paid my deposit that way. I am now planning this trip myself. Oh, and come to find out, she never even put in the preferred status for my In-laws room. We needed them to be in a general area so they were not walking a long distance to our room. I guess the old saying is true, "If you want something done right, do it yourself."
