Problems with IE6 SP1

Any one having trouble with their browser lately. Since I downloaded the service pack I have had nothing but problems. First any secure site that used SSL I was unable to connect to getting an offline message. So I unistalled 6 and went back to 5.5. Then I dowloaded 6 SP1 again and it seemed to take care of that problem, I still had a problem with certain sites. Now it seems the browser runs very slow when loading pages. I thought it was a problem with my ISP but I am using Netscape now and am having no problems at all( so I guess it isnt Verizon's problem)

Microsoft is such a joke. They release software before it is ready and the give you a gazillion service packs to fix all the bugs or features they ddint take care of on the initial release.

I think I am going to reformat my hard drive install Linux and use netscape as my browser.

I'm running IE6sp1 on my desktop at work, my on call laptop (which I use all the time), and on my desktop at home. I'm not having trouble like you reported on any of the machines.

I think Microsoft allows themselves to release software too soon due to market pressure and then has to patch it before it's the way it <i>should</i> be. I know myself I won't go to a new Microsoft OS before it's had at least one SP.

Oh, and I know Linux needs patches on occasion too, so you're not safe there. You might be ok going to a MAC, but look how Jeff in BigD has turned out, and you understand the effects of lifetime MAC usage.

Haha, the joke's on you. I used to use PCs...but I also used to think that life was in black & white back before color film when I was little. Luckily I've grown wiser on both accounts.
