Problems With CRT Online Ressies...

I had the same problem many of us have had when booking CRT online. It has been asking for payment in full and charging it to your credit card instead of just holding the ressie. I emailed Disney and surprisingly a cast member called me back within a week to apologize and to see what she could do for us. Just thought I would share.:)

It's supposed to charge you for the meal in full unless the system can verify that you are on the dining plan. Apparently the online system is having trouble doing that. Always check before you click when booking online. If you want to pay with dining credits, you may need to call and speak to a human.

Did you put your resort reservation # in before you got the ADR? If not, it would charge the card. That just happened to me this week - I forgot to enter my resort # and it charged me. I called Disney and I stayed on the phone with them while they cancelled it and reserved it again under my resort #.

I had the same problem, I was logged onto the disney site and had my reservation pulled up so I should not have been charged but I was, I did not want to loose my time so I just booked it and figured I could call and get it fixed later.:confused3

Yep I was completely logged in and it took all my other ressies and didn't charge me for them(even though it did take my cc number to hold one) but wanted to charge me the full amount when I booked CRT. The CM said they are aware of the problem and trying to fix it. I encourage anyone whom is having this problem to write Disney and let them know.

I booked my CRT reservation on Sunday for the week of thanksgiving. I had my hotel reservation open when I booked my dining ressies and I am on the dining plan. The online system asked for payment in full and my credit card has been charged for the meal. I planned on using my dining credits to pay for this meal because it is the most expensive meal of my trip. I mean why else would i pay for a dining plan (i took advantage of room discount but paying for dining) if i wasn't going to use it. I was under the impression that or maybe i just assumed that my credit card would be credited at the time of the meal if i ask to put use my dining credits. I need to call disney and ask them what the normal procedure is here. Thanks for this thread:thumbsup2

Who did you email? I have the same issue (was charged for both HDDR and Mickey's Back Yard BBQ even though I pulled my reservation first). I sent an email by clicking on the "COntact Us" link on the Disneyworld web site, and got a reply that said they didn't have access to dining information and I would have to contact the dining folks directly.

I'm VERY hesistant to try to have them cancel & rebook, since there is no availabililty left for either of those shows for the date & time that we have booked. I'm okay with just getting a refund to my card when we go to the restaurant, but I read in another thread that the restaurant may give you a gift card instead of a refund to your credit card? Does anyone know if this is true? That would be fine for MBYBBQ, since that's on the second night of our trip and we could just use the gift card for spending money over the course of the trip. But HDDR is on our last night, and we're checking out first thing the next morning, so I don't know that we'd have a chance to spend it...

ive had both happen to me.. when i booked the majority of my ddp meals i had logged into the resort rezzies and linked the dining rez to the vac package.. on another occation i found a royaltable availability and again.. logged into resort rezzie.. but forgot to link the meal to it.. i only noticed after i was charged .. i just called them and they were able to take off the charge (but had to make a different breakfast time as they couldnt swap it out with my original time) only 15 min difference so no biggie.

If you are not on the dining plan, it is supposed to charge you in full at the time of reservation, correct? :confused3

Correct. The problem many of us are having is that we ARE on the dining plan, and even when we retrieve our resort reservation when making online ADRs, we are still getting charged for the full amount up front.

I think I'm just going to leave it as is and ask for a refund when we go to the meals. The nights & times we booked are now no longer available, and since they are dinner shows (HDDR and MBYBBQ) it's not like we can just look for another time that's close. I'm afraid that if I call and they try to cancel & immediately rebook, someone else could snap up that time slot before we get it rebooked.

I had this happen to me too. So, I called Disney Dining and re-booked with them and that worked fine. I'm still waiting for my credit card to be refunded. It's been since Monday so I'll give it a few more days. I want my $341 back!:goodvibes
