Ours wouldn't even match the price up front.

I originally booked the trip myself w/DCL, and when I checked w/the local AAA office, found the prices to be the same as we got the Magical Rates for Cat 11, which were great to begin with. What she did help me w/though, was the (way) lower priced insurance and free soda mug fo us all, so I switched my ressie over. She got our docs to us right away and made sure we were set on excursions and transfers etc.. Looks like all AAA's are not alike, as we had very good service.

I went to our local AAA office after getting a quote from DCL of $2488 for the 3 day cruise in a family room. The agent told me although she had never been on a cruise, she knew they were great and we would love it. I asked her how much it would cost for the 3 day cat. 4 room and she told me the prices were in the book she had just given me ~ $4000 :earseek: I questioned her and she assured me that this was indeed the price. I explained that I had called the cruise line and was give a price of $2488 at which time she looked into her computer and came up with the price of $2600. The only thing I'll be going there for from this point forward is a map!

I had been pretty happy with our AAA TA up until this past week. We are booked on the 2-28 Magic and as of last week we had not rec'd our docs--so I called the TA to at least get our flight info and she said that she would have it Wed or Thurs and would even call to get our seat assignments. She promised to get the info to me right away!! Here it is Mon and still no phone call--so I got the info myself from DCL & called for our seat assignments--all of which took a total of 10-15 mins!!

I had originally booked the cruise myself but transfered the ressie to AAA to get the soda mugs so I've basically done all of the work but she'll get the credit with AAA for the booking!!

Next time I'll do it myself and go without the mugs!!!!

The AAA agent we had appeared to be a novice at Disney cruises. We had friends who were traveling on the same cruise (they booked through DCL) already booking shore excursions. Our final payment wasn't even due yet. Our agent at AAA was out ill and nobody else could help us. I called DCL and explained my situation to them. The Disney rep said she had to get special permission to book our excursions. She called back and we were lucky. We got one of the last dolphin excursions and the very last time available for the Banana Boat on Castaway Cay. We didn't stand a chance at some of the excursions. Please make sure your final payment is in line with Disney's final payment date if you want to book shore excursions ahead of time. ;)

I had NO PROBLEMS with my AAA travel agent. Their price was the same as the ones we saw elsewhere, and their office was convenient to our house. The free mugs were a nice touch (though I wouldn't have paid for them). However, I increased my chances of having a good experience by doing my homework ahead of time.

We have never had any problems with our AAA reservations anf they have always matched the price I received from the following research 1. Costco, 2. DCL site, and 3. America West. Plus I always seem to get a 50 onboard credit and refillable mugs.

So far so good! I made a reservation with AAA for DCL and WDW and had confirmation numbers by the end of the day. I had my confirmation papers two days after that. The AAA TA was very nice and called to make the reservations right away. Maybe she didn't have a very busy day. I hope that it continues to be smooth sailing with AAA...:D

I thought i was one of the few that had such an awful time with a AAA agent. I wanted a person to talk to. And AAA has been aroundd a long time. But what a mistake! Every question i asked I was told to look in the brochure or on the web. That's all well and good but what am I paying her for. I live in Ct. And i would strongly discourage any one from using AAA. I did almost all of the planning myself everything but booking our flight. After it all i feel as if I could work as a travel agent now. We leave next thursday for the poly at WDW and 4 nights on the Wonder. I've done alot of homework and I'm anxious to see how my planning will work out.
Thanks

On my dealings with AAA - I have made my reservation, and received my confirmation number right away, and papers on that and insurance within a few days. So far my only other dealings with them was one call with a couple of questions. I left a messege, and my agent returned my call within an hour. Answered the questions I had right away. I really research my own trips very well, so the travel agents I use, when I use them is because they can get a better price, or extras that I will use.
Our trip is a 7 day Eastern, Oct 30th, we get the mugs (we will use), a couple of discounts (we may use), Luggage tags (can't hurt), Gift basket in stateroom (nice touch), and the most important $100 room credit because we booked in January, AAA Disney month. We would have gotten $50 for using the Disney Credit Card, but the extra $50 was a nice surprise. We got the insurance much cheaper then Disney sells it. The price for all this with a Cat 11 gar., 2 adults 2 children (3-12) inc. all taxes and insurance is $2665.40. I thought it was pretty good, and it was for the week we wanted to go.
Because we are going to Hawaii in April I didn't know if we would be going on this trip, but when this was e-mailed to me, with the best rates for the days we wanted to go, I had to do it. I'll let you know if I have any problems with AAA.
