Problems making Reservations at the Garden Grill

A group of us will be at WDW from Dec 18-30, 2010. We just recently made dinner reservations and are having a problem getting reservations at The Garden Grill at Epcot.

Our original idea was to try and get it for December 21, 2010 but it said nothing was available. Now I know we have a large party of 10, so I first tried to pare the party size down to 2, just to see If the size of the party was the issue, but apparently it was not. I even tried all different combinations for 5 Days either side of that date and still was told there was nothing available.

Has anyone heard anything about a refurb or something similar happening at The Garden Grill in December??

That's odd. I just did a quick search myself and could not find any tables after Thanksgiving Day. That appears to be the last day that tables are available, at least for parties of 2. Lots of availability before Thanksgiving, though.

I have a Garden Grill ressie for December 5th already so its not closed after t-giving....it was (and usually is) one of the tougher ones to get! On our trip last year I tried for MONTHS before an opening popped up from cancelation!

I know it is very odd we were making reservations like between 6 and 7 am on the first day of the 180 limit so I cannot believe it would go that fast.

180 or 190 day limit? I wouldnt be surprised if you are having trouble at the 180 day mark - last year, we booked at the 180 day mark and couldnt get anything for our entire 7 day trip anynight for a party size anywhere from 2-6 people. I tried daily for several months and finally got something in July for our September trip.

I know that there may be some glitches in the system today as well, but its a small restaurant and its very family friendly so I think its popular!

I have been trying to get The Garden Grill all week and no luck. I have tried at the 190 mark everyday and not one single time has been available. I think it has something to do with CP dinner packages not being released yet.

I asked a similar ? when our ADr window opened because I couldn't get anything before 6:40 and was lucky to get those. Apparently, GG is one of the restaurants to book Candlelight Processional packages. Since those haven't been released yet, a big chunk of the ressies are on hold for that. Don't know if, when they're released, they'll be available to those not wanting the CP package or not.

We tried to get GG for a previous trip and had no luck for the 4 of us! I tried every day. This trip I did get a ressie for Nov. 17th and only 2 times were open, I got one at 4:40 for 7 of us!

Yes Blana that may be the Issue, that ressies may be difficlut to get until they release the list for the CP. I know the ressie we made for LeCelliar will need to be rebooked as soon as the list comes out.

Very strange - I was able to get an ADR at Garden Grill for 12/20 at 5:50 p.m. for six people. I was able to make the reservation last week due to the "glitch" in the online reservation system allowing onsite guests to book 190 days in advance, but I didn't have any trouble getting a table.

We ate there last June and enjoyed it very much, but I didn't have any trouble getting an ADR then either. It didn't seem very crowded when we were there, so I guess I didn't realize it was that popular. I wasn't going to book it this year - I wanted to do Le Cellier (which I was also able to reserve) - but it was the only thing my DMIL wanted to repeat - she's a huge Chip & Dale fan, and they were hilarious!

Anyway, good luck on getting into Garden Grill - I hope you have a great time there.
